Got a call today from 877-354-8148 and the message told me to call AMEX back today (stupid me erased the message). But doing a google search tells me that the number belongs to Nationwide Credit

Isn't it illegal for collection agencies to pretend to be OC's?

You can complain against Nationwide Credit to your state's Attorney General's office.
