Is CBCS collections agency trustworthy? I have to pay off a past due verizon bill and verizon says that CBCS is their outside collections agency. Should I pay CBCS?

Hi!
Welcome to the forums!

Go through the following link to know whether or not CBCS is a trustworthy collection agency.

You should pay CBCS only after validating the debt. Don't pay any money to them without getting the debt validation letter from them.

Yes, CBCS collection agency is trustworthy. Following link may help you in this regard:

No, you should not pay to CBCS immediately. Before paying to CBCS, you can contact with that collection agency and request them for a validation letter via certified mail with a return receipt request. If they send you the proper validation letter, then you can pay money to CBCS. Otherwise, you can send them a ???Cease and Desist??? letter. Following link may help you to write those letters:

I went to apply for my first credit card today with no luck. My banker told me that my credit history had debt with CBCS listed, with this past July as the date placed for collections. The original debt is listed as my hospital for some lab work. The hospital, the lab work, even the amount look familiar, but I'm still skeptical. I haven't received any information from CBCS about this debt (by mail or phone), so I was very surprised to see this on my credit history. I'm worried because nothing I've read about CBCS makes me think they are an upright company. Can someone give me the steps to take to solve this? If in the end I need to pay the debt, that's fine, I just want to make sure I'm not being taken advantage of. Should I first call my hospital to make sure there is debt and that it is being handled by CBCS, then send CBCS a letter asking for verification? I'm nervous to give them my information because it sounds like they are relentless, regardless of whether the debt is unresolved or attempting to collect on a debt that's already been paid in full.

Help, please!
