  • Regional Adjustment Bureau/RAB

RAB Inc Regional Adjustment Bureau company is calling me non-stop at home, at work and now on my cell!! I called them and told them that I DID NOT want them to call my cell phone, as I am charged for those calls. Well the little B***H on the phone told me "oh yes we can call your cell phone and you need to pay your bill", I told her she was a joke and hung up. I can't take this anymore, I've told them to stop calling my place of employment as well, but it just does not stop. These people are SO rude and demanding. What can I do????

I would suggest sending Regional Adjustment Bureau Inc. a letter instructing them to not call you at work or on your cell phone. Send it certified mail, return receipt requested.

Here is their contact information:

This animals, call my wife place of employment through the company security.
A police guard escolt my wife to his office to answer a phone call from this company " Regional Adjustment Bureau"
Then asking if she does NOT pay she will call security again.

I don't know what to do! We don't have any money and if my wife loose her job, I don't know what to think but this animal has to be stop one way or the other.
If I have to drive to Tenneesee I will.
But I am not going to be a happy camper. Are there any other individuals with similar Regional Adjustment Bureau complaints who can also offer help?

My neighbor was called by RAB inc, and asked several questions about my son and his credit. Are they allowed to call your neighbors and ask about your financial history? When his credit situation has nothing to do with me.

what about us who don't do anything but move in by someone who chooses not to pay their bills! I pay all of my bill yet I am getting phone call after phone call about a neighbor I don't even know! why should I have to deal with this! All I did was buy a house near to someone who obviously doesn't pay bills!

Maybe you should feel grateful that you don't have financial problems like so many of us do. And perhaps you should have compassion for your neighbor. I understand that phone calls of this nature can be frustrating, especially when they have nothing to do with anyone in your household. Can you imagine how those of us who know they owe the money but can't afford it feel????

These phone calls can be stopped if you submit a cease and desist letter. Send it via mail, certified return receipt. Verbal requests do no good. However, you may still call teh Regional Adjustment Bureau phone numbers and speak with the representatives asking them not to call you further or maybe you could inform them that you have sent them a letter. Not sending it certified return receipt usually does no good either. It will cost you about $5.00 to mail it this way, but you stop the calls.

Anyone can go to "whitepages.com" and get the name, address, and phone number of everyone living on their street by using reverse search. Do as dirtpoor advises, send the dirtbags a C&D letter to stop the calls. If you need this is their number 800-829-7750

my household pays our bills, we are lucky to be able to do that. I don't appreciate getting a call at 8:30 on Saturday morning asking if I know my neighbor next door (didn't even recognize the name)!! I don't want to be disturbed because a nasty bill collector can't do his/her job!! makes me sick.. how about somebody call my neighbors and tell them to thank me for paying my bills? so disgusting.

I am self-employed and there is a bill collector calling me on my business line. I have asked him to not call my business line because it is for business purposes only, but he says he can call any F*****N number he choses. Does he have the right to call me on this line if he has my other contact number?

More details please. What state do you live in? Is this a personal or business debt? If personal, is it still w/in the SOL for your state? You can send them a cease comm letter, but if it is still w/in SOL, it could get you sued. Did he actually use the "F" word? That would be a violation of the fdcpa and actionable if you can get it on tape.

I HAVE BEEN HARASSED ABOUT A NEIGHBORS DELIQUENT ACCOUNT FOR MONTHS. I HAVE TOLD THEM OVER AND OVER THAT I AM ONLY A NEIGHBOR AND STILL THEY KEEP CALLING. THERE IS A WEBSITE FROM THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION FTC.GOV SEARCH FOR THE FAIR DEBT COLLECTION PRACTICES ACT. FILE A COMPLAINT WITH THE FTC. EVERYONE SHOULD START A CLASS ACTION LAW SUITE. I MYSELF HAVE FOUND SEVERAL VIOLATIONS AND I'M NOT EVEN AN ATTORNEY. GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!

I started getting calls from this collection agency when we bought our house. I am in the phone book with my married name. I have recieved about 40 calls from these people, no name just call me back. When I have informed them they have reached the wrong party they just hang-up and call again. I just wrote the company and am planning on filling a complanet with the Atterney Generals office. The have asked me to verify my address, last four of my ss# and advise me they have the wrong party, but still the calls contune.

Today was the last straw. I asked that I be removed, advised them I work for a collection agency and I know my rights. I was transifed and hung-up on. When I called back, no one did a thing. This company needs to be fined for them to do anything. FYI - if the Atterney General's finds out that the company and the rep are breaking FDCPA laws, they will both be fined.

I am only one month behind on my auto loan with 5th 3rd Bank. I am so mad that I can't even see straight cause they would'nt let me skip a payment or even work with me before I got in the shape that I am in now. 5th 3rd Bank handed over my acount to Regional Adjustment Bureau, and they called me at work. My place of buissiness answeres the phone by saying the company name and then "this is Jane how may I help you today", and the nasty unproffesional lady with Regional Adjustment Bureau starts telling Jane about my financial problem. I was not even aware of what they were calling about till Jane "the lady that answere's the phone at my employment" came and told me that she informed them that they did not need to be telling her my buissness then they hung up on her. When I called them back they answered the phone by saying "hello". When I asked who I was talking to I was asked to hold. When the rude lady came back she started out by calling me by my name. I still didn't have a clue who I was talking to. When I finnaly got her to tell me she informed me that I was to make a payment in full or they would come and get my truck. I asked for some time to come up with some sort of thought and I was givven an hour or else. I also was not allowed to talk to a manager about how rude and unproffesionally I had been treated.

Nice to know I'm not alone! RAB has been sicked on me by Citi Financial Auto (also in TX) I got in a pickle on an auto loan...they refused to communicate with me because the vehicle I was in possession of...the loan was in my wife's name...we we seperated at the time, but I attempted to make payments, but they stalled me, then repossessed it. I'd hoped that would be the end of it, since they violated the loan agreement they should eat it...but no. These RAB pit bulls are now calling night and day...yep, neighbors too. I told them to shove it and am now filling out a complaint to the attorney general in this state...they seem to think they can help. Great info here! I'll include a link in my complaint!

The only way to stop this company is to file complaints. Know your rights! The people who are getting calls regarding the neighbors... They can ask your family and neighbors about the following: find out your address, your home phone number, and where you work. They can only call ONCE. If you tell them to stop calling you at work, they must. Send a C&D letter. The collector cannot discuss your finances with anyone but you or your spouse! WOW A lot of these collection agencies would be in serious trouble if people would file complaints!

I have just received another call from RAB after they have received a C&D letter. They have also continued to contact at least one of my neighbors about this BOGUS debt.

In March of this year I became a victim of Identity theft, someone got access to my paypal account and charged over $3,000. Luckily I was able to catch it quick enough to have paypal and CC company reverse the charges. I originally thought someone just got access to paypal acct but, one week later after checking my CR I found 6 credit cards that were opened up in my name. I contacted the credit card companies and credit bureaus about this and had a freeze placed on my CR until the situation was corrected.

When I received the 1st call fro RAB I tried to explain what had happened but, the rep. would not listen to anything I said so, I contacted the Bureaus and asked for a confirmation letter to be sent to RAB while I sent my C&D letter.

Continued....

I have still been receiving calls from RAB and I have been recording and documenting the calls. Even after I told them that they (RAB) had received and signed for my C&D letter they continue to call. I guess it is time to contact an attorney and have him/her deal with this company.

I asked him to send me a bill right away once i received it to the correct adress I called them to ask some questions and he was so mean!!!
i was actually tying to send a payment in and he told me that i didnt want to pay and i was tsking my time. He was very rude i cannot bel;ieve there are people like this I am very mad and frustrated because i was trying to do the right thing and he completely ofended me.. I ask to all of those who have had a problem with this company to file an official complaint on them. So we ca get rid of those little bit#####!

I'm glad this site exists. This explained alot. And for the person on here that called us "trolls" you should know that in my situation, I was waiting for a payoff letter for final payment on a vehicle loan. I didn't get it so the bank turned it over to his bureau for collection. All I needed to know was the final payment and I told this collection agency I was contacting the bank and would take care of it. They continued to call me every 3 hours for...oh it's been 10 days now. I have mailed my payment and they just keep calling.
No one deserves to be treated like this from a collection company. It's my loss if I don't pay the bill becuz they will just come get the car...so why the harrassment? It's very uncalled for. I would love to know how to complain about this. I tried the BBB online and it wouldn't take the complaint.

I have been getting calls from these creeps also. Back in 2004 my son and I got a truck from Nissan. He was the co-signer. My husband got hurt at work, we fell behind on our bills and the truck got repoed, My son is obviously upset with me. This woman-(B@@ch) named Jennifer from RAB calls me eveyday. She then turns around and calls my son the same day. I tried to make payment arrangements, when I told her that I could pay 100.00 a month she hollered at me and told me no they want 200.00 and will not take any less. I said well I guess you will have to do what ever then. Well she continued to call and they have harrassed my son so much to this point that he is so mad at me that he will not talk to me, well to get him and them off my back I told her that my husband was due a settlement from his wc and we will try to settle but not for what they want, she hollered at me and told me "Well I guess I will just call your son and tell him what you are trying to do.", I told her fine go ahead ya'll already have him to where he's not talking to me anyways. she got mad, but i am tired of being run over. I have not had a job in over 3 yrs. having to take care of my now disabled husband that had 5 back surgeries in 8 weeks.(not one time has she ever told me that this is an attempt to collect a debt), there's alot of things that i found out she was suppose to be doing that she hasnt been. Needless to say, I am going to get me a lawyer and fight this.

this firm has inundated our lines with calls for a past employee. we have chosen to turn this entire matter over to the legal department and will work through the Texas State Attorney Generals Office.
this firm denies any and all complicity with a Texas home office which is not true. Further, they harassed our employees without cause.

Calls repeatedly, 2-3 times per day. Yesterday they called every hour and hung up. Left a message at 8 last night not telling me they were a collection agency, just "Linda Halloway" telling me she had to hear from me RIGHT AWAY. Found out this morning they called and harassed my adoptive parents yesterday whom I haven't spoken to in 20 years. I go online and see their employees harassing people on complaints boards (screen shots and IP addresses, anyone?). These people are STUPID BEYOND ALL MEANS. AND CRIMINALS WHO DESERVE TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE. We have yet to receive a letter from these a-holes.

I will be filing a complaint with the my State Collection Agency Licensing Board, my State Attorney General's Office, the FTC and the BBB. Then I will be sending a certified return receipt requested cease and desist letter and then I will be filing an FDCPA lawsuit. I am done playing around with these dipshits. They're going down! I suggest any of you on this board receiving this type of harassment DO THE SAME.

Take digital pictures of your caller ID everytime they call, you'll have an ironclad record of their harassment.

Do not bother to pick up your phone, turn the ringer off. Eventually this forces them to leave an illegal voicemail that you can then use against them in court.

Send them a cease and desist letter certified return receipt requested. Follow up on it with a lawsuit if they fail to adhere to it. You can serve them through the mail yourself, just send it certified return receipt requested. Make sure to include evidence of mailing when you file with your local court.

Know your rights! Read up on the FDCPA and check your local state for laws governing collection agencies. www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/credit/cre27.pdf

You can file a complaint with the FTC here:

On the night on 2/19/2010 my phone rings at 8:45. So I answered. The speaker began to ask for me & she introduced herself to me. She proceeded to ask me if I was who I said I was because she didn't want to difuldge my personal info to an incorrect party. So then she said she is a debt collection agency by the name of Regional Adjustment Bureau. She asked me if I was prepared to make a one time settlement for more than $1600.00. I said no ma'am I am not. She asked me what was I able to pay monthly. I told her that I wasn't sure because I have to review my monthly finances. She became irate with me & started talking over me. She said there isn't anymore time & they weren't going to give me anymore time. I have had enough time & that is why Im in collections now!! She said they were going to begin futher actions against me!! I was trying to handle the call as professional as I possibly could. Then I asked her, "well are you going to talk over me or are you going to allow me to talk." She got pissed off & said she was not going to allow me to yell at her!! This agent or "customer service person or debt collector was doing all of the yelling. I never once raised my voice to her. Well, Ms. Sandra McNeil, Im sure that is an alias, I wasn't yelling at you, I was simply trying to get some questions answered as to how I could take care of this debt & what my options are. I am not about to play a cat & mouse game with Regional Adjustment Bureau. I understand that I owe money. However, that does not give anyone the right to call & yell, scream & be rude to people. Have you ever heard of attracting more flies with honey than vinegar? This woman was so NASTY TOO ME & IT WASN'T EVEN CALLED FOR. I only wanted her to answer a few questions for me. She never gave me a chance before she started over talking me, not being attentive & being unprofessional. Her behavior makes me question her up bringing & her on the job training. HER ATTITUDE WAS UNACCEPTABLE & HORRIBLE. And this is the representation that RAB has hired. AND THIS IS THE COLLECTION AGENCY THAT THE LENDERS HAVE HIRED!!! I wonder if they, RAB, close any collections at all. Representation like that make you want to say forget it. My credit is screwed anyway & they are not there to help!!

Unfortunately I answered the phone and this woman asked me if I was a relative of my mother (said her name) I said yes of course thinking something was wrong with my mom. Well, they keep calling me now, how do I get them to quit calling. The annoying thing is that they call really early and really late at night. I am saving the caller id and programming it DNA (Do Not Answer) but how many different lines could they call from?

i agree, these people are so demanding it's sick!! Obviously some of us who are having troubles financially, cant make these outrageous demands! I've been hounded by these people for a while. I have asked many times if we can arrange a payment plan and the lady/man on the other man rudely said "NO, WE NEED IT IN FULL OVER THE PHONE NOW!!" Really?? but yet they'd gladly take 100 bucks to hold this "offer"...yeah, that makes sense!! Im tired of them harrassng me but not being willing to work with me when i try to make something work....Some customer service they claim to have.

The only way to stop them is to either turn them over to your attorney or write them a certified letter telling them to stop calling you at home, at work, or your cell. Legally they have to stop. I would also send a letter regular mail as well. If you receive the certified one back do not open it. It will be proof you sent a letter if they continue to harass you. They are calling me to...I have an attorney for my bankruptcy....

What about the Memphis division? I have been contacted by Leslie Fox and her "supervisor". I asked them to stop calling my work and they continue to do so.

I also tell them I could pay inMay yet they keep calling saying they're marking it as a "refusal to pay".

It is illegal for a company to discuss anyone's debt with anyone other than the debtor...notify them of this.
