i would like help in how to deal with collection agency to pay a debt,
or can i go to original creditor first?? It is listd on my credit report
i dont have a bill, i know i owe it. thank you

If the account is still with your original creditor, then you should contact the creditor and try to set up a payment plan with them which will help you in paying off the debt in full. If the account has been charged off and transferred to a collection agency, and if you don't want to deal with the collection agency, then you can take the help of debt consolidation program. I do not think that is a fair statement Ryan. Whlie there are some, most reputable CA's will fully abide by the FDCPA. The problem is the bottomfeeders and offshore collectors that have no regard for the law and get a majority of the press will try to scare you. Most collection agencies will work with you to the best of thier ability. They will not roll-over and be upfront an honest with you as long as you do not play games by ignoring thier calls/letters or not living up to your agreement.

Also, please be careful when somone comes on a message board and tries to solicite business...
