I have an old credit card debt from college. I believe the statute of limitations has run out but the account keeps being sold to new collection companies. Each time this happens, does the statute of limitations begin all over again? How can I find out exactly when the statute of limitations runs out? I am in Texas so I think it is four years. But, if it keeps starting over it will go on forever.

Thanks SoapLady! I am stumbled across this forum and it has been really helpful. How can I prove that the SOL has run out? Can I dispute these accounts to have them removed from my credit report? I saw an example of a verification letter in another thread. Is that the first step? Or, should I dispute the account with CRA's? Thanks, again:)
