If a judgment order has been issued against you, then it is better to pay it off asap. You can write a letter to the lawyer and explain your case to him/her. If you don't get any response, then you may call the lawyer.

Thanks for responding! The only issue I have with paying this debt is it's listed on my credit report as being $2667.00, however when I called the other day its 4478.06! I am willing to offer an one time settlement of $1500.00, but not sure if I have any other options...

Ah unfortunately you don't have many options. They got a judgment against you and it has been collecting interest ever since. You can try to negotiate a settlement, but they don't have many incentives to accept one. Depending on your state's laws they may be able to try garnishment or bank levies.
