Hi,
My name is Jessica, and I'm pretty new here. I found this site while looking for information on a company that had debited my bank account. I'm learning a heck of a lot about my rights as a consumer, and I've told a lot of my friends about this site. The information available here is invaluable to those of us who have gotten in over our heads financially. I'm not as bad off as some, but I have definitely let things get out of hand! I've made plans for paying off my debts thanks to the information I've found here, and I hope I can be helpful to others.

I also have to agree with Katie when she says that animals are a lifesaver too. Having creatures who depend on me for everything has kept me from doing anything rash when depression gets too much.

My turn! People call me "Kay". I'm 28, and from NY. I think this site is great, and found so much helpful information. Out of all of the other online research I've done with credit repair, I found this site the best. The forums are wonderful, it adds more of a personal touch. It makes me feel so much better to know there are other people out there in the same boat I am.

I found this site back in October when I Googled up a Collection Agency that was harassing me at home, my hubby at work, and my hubby's coworkers. (Company was Corporate Receivable) Members were able to tell me immediately that he was crossing the line, and told me how to deal with them by sending a Cease and Desist letter. (Boy I'm learning the lingo fast! LOL) To my amazement, the harassing phone calls stop immediately.

To date, hubby and I together are in debt for about $30,000.00 (includes utilities that we are behind on). My hubby's debt is larger and more out of hand then mine (we are both to blame for this) and I have been trying to persuade him to do a consolidation. He even spoke with a consultant from this site, but he has not exactly been sold on the idea. He wants to wait until I can find a job (been out of work for over a year) because we are barely making it with rent and utilities as it is. He's afraid of not being able to make the consolidation payment and making things worst.

We recently received a very small inheritance (about $5,000.00). It's not enough to get us out of debt, but enough to begin to repair the damage we've done. This site has been so great it helping me understand exactly how to do that.

Just popping in to say hello to everyone!!!! Some of you know me already. my name is Shirley. I found this website/forum last year in desperation. The world felt like it was falling in on me. My husband had lost his job---before---due to corporate cutbacks and then went on to find another job that paid less than what we were accustomed to making so even though money was coming in, we were still getting further and further behind and not able to get caught up from when he was laid off. Then the company that he worked for, filed bankruptcy and folded under, so husband was back out on the job market. We went through this a few times. So financially, we were a disaster!!!! And were feeling the 'ripple' effect. Everything--well almost everything we owed, went into 'charge off' mode and then we started hearing from collection agencies. Our credit score hit rock bottom. It was just a huge mess. I found myself with no where to turn to, I was scared and afraid--I was at my ropes end. Then I found this forum. Its been the best thing to ever happen to me!!! I can come here to talk and the people here are so nice and understanding. no judging, no pressures, no scoldings...just people that want to help. sometimes they can't always help, no one can, but it still helps to have a place to come to that you can talk and have people that listen and really do care. I'm at home here, and I hope all of you are too, if you're not, then I hope you soon will be. :D Shirley

My name is Crystal. I am a mother of three and I work outside the home full time as an Accountant for an Appraisal District in Texas. I found this site one day when I googled debt consolidation. I had reached rock bottom with 8 payday loans totaling $4000.00. I hvae learned so much reading old posts. It is great to know that I am not alone and that there is help out there. Hi all, am new to sign up but have been looking at this site for some time. My name is Karen and I am a Substance Abuse Counselor. Lost my job about a year ago to govt. funding cuts. This is how I got back in the debt game. About 18 years we lost our house,cars,money, everything. SLOWLY over the years, we have been able to pay off a lot of debt. Most was due to a son who had many,many medical and hospital bills. We were in pretty good shape until job loss. Actually have paid off some other, smaller bills and working to pay off more. Will have IRS paid off in a month or so. Only problem is LVNV Funding that bought our accout, but trying to work things out with them. I was in a field of helping people, also worked with people getting out of prison to help them get their life together, so am looking forward to hopefullu being of help to some here. I love reading,playing on the 'puter and making new friends. My 2 sons are grown,though you couldn't tell it from my younger one!!Hope to get to know all of you,and thanks so much for all your help

It has been a while since anybody has introduced themselves! No matter though, her I go. My name is Amy, I have 5 children, however only my 2 teenage daughters live with me. I enjoy swimming, rollerblading, running, biking, reading books, and watching movies. I came to this site because I have been trying to get myself out of debt since my divorce and have only managed to incur more and it is out of control. Especially with the payday loans. Yikes!!!!! So I am open to any help anyone can offer about getting out of debt and staying there!

Hi, my name is Malena Huber they call me Mollie I am also new to the forum. I am also a payday loan-aholic and after using all my husband's and my Social Security disabiity income to pay the finance charges for this loans I found this site and it has been the best thing that has happened to me in a loooong time!. I love camping, biking, swimming, reading and of course "The Forum" I am addicted to this site now. As I mentioned above I am 100% due to 5 car accidents (none of them my fault) I have had 5 back surgeries and thank god I am able to walk because my pain management doctor put in a "spinal cord stimulator" and it has been working great although I cannot do as much as before but I am hanging in there. I live in Florida (Tampa) and I love it here, I have been in this country for 45 years (Cuba). Thank you all so much for having this website..

What a great idea! Guess I will introduce myself too. My name is Karen and I am in NC. I am the mother of 2 teenagers (17 year old son and 14 year old daughter) About ready to loose one child to the military after graduation. I work full time for electrical contractors and my husband works for a Cat. company. Got into the PDL trap due to having to have major surgery right after we bought a house and I was out of work for several months and my husband's hours were cut. Seemed like we were constantly struggling and one day I was crying and praying that we could find a way to try to get a part of our life back and was just doing some searching on the next and somehow (and I have no idea how, maybe a little devine intravention) this site popped up on my screen and now here I am. Been here a couple of weeks not and have to say I am so greatful to be here. The information and support and advice here has been wonderful and has made me feel like I am not alone and do not have to hide what I have done and I am not going to be put down or condemned for making a mistake. Thank you to everyone for welcoming me into this wonderful community and I hope that I can give back some small way.

Well, I will introduce myself. My name is Melissa and I am the mother of 2 daughters 12(13 tomorrow) and 10. I am a hairstylist and have been one for 15 years. Got into a mess about 6 months ago and somehow stumbled across this site. I have been reading everything that I can and have found this site to be so helpful. I really like how when someone need help, everyone is willing to go the extra mile to help them out. It is hard these days to find someone like that. I really hope to be able to help people the way that I have been helped.

The reason I'm on this site is to seek information on finding out which is the best place to go in terms of becoming debt free in all aspects of bills, loans, and cc debts. There's a lot of not so good debt solution companies and less good ones. I love to go to Vegas ( not the reason for PDL's :D ) to visit friends I have one dog (picture on the side) I found this site on a day I was looking for yet another loan to pay off intrest.. And what do you know only 4 months later I am PDL free.. No refunds but got a couple closed and marked PIF. This is a wonderful site and everytime money gets tight I come here and read about the mess it would get me back in too..

I live in lovely Los Angeles. I am not currently working, although I've managed retail stores for a number of years, and was a collections manager for a number of months. I'm struggling to pay off my bills, and I've cut out most unnecessary expenses to get there. I have a lovely wife, and a great 1 1/2 month old boy (actually 4 1/2 months, but he was a premie). I got myself in a payday loan mess and started looking up on them and found this site. Now you can't get me off of here. I used to be glued to pogo but now I am glued here. And thanks to this site I have gotten up enough nerve to tell some of these people off and how to write letters to the CA's. I have told my co-workers, friends and family about this site and how awesome it is. I know sometimes I can get long winded with my replys so bear with me because the only other people I have to talk to is the CA's that call lol. The only reason is because hubby took an extra full-time job to pay off the payday loans. So the load is getting a little lighter thanks to the advise I got from here.

I've made a lot of financial mistakes in my life, and had a lot of financial downfalls that were related to medical problems and/or divorce. I came to this site searching for assistance with payday loans, found the help I needed, and managed to get out of the payday lending cycle.

My name is Anna. I'm 36 and live in Indiana. I have been divorced for about 7 years. I have 1 10 yr old son who is the light of my life. I work full time for a computer company for almost 10 years. I am trying like everyone else on here to get out of debt. I am raising my son on no child support at this time. I have gone almost 2 years with out it. My X husband lives in Louisiana and I'm not real pleased with the local prosecutor at the moment. You could say my X is a total "DEAD BEAT DAD" he decided to move out of Indiana to Louisiana and remarry a woman he met on the www that has 2 kids of her own. He supports them but not his own here. Needless to say its been pretty rough on me over the years. I too got hooked on the payday loans because it was an easy way to "get by" between pay checks. Last may I got involved in an accident and broke my left elbow..( I am left handed as well) so guess what came again...More payday loans.... If it wasnt for this forum I dont know where I'd be right now. All these wonderful people have given me great advice and basically saved a single mother from paying every last penny she had because I felt intimadated by these "JERK" collection agencies. Little by little I am working my way back out of the hole.

I want to thank each of you for all your help. This forum has been a blessing to me really.

Good to hear a little bit more about you. I'm glad you are working your way out of the payday loan trap. Have you tried Support Kids? My sister's ex-husband was nearly $20,000 behind on child support and she contacted them. She wasn't having much luck through the courts. She was divorced in Indiana so I can understand how slow the court system works there. She has been getting child support for awhile now. I think they take a percentage of it though. Where in Indiana do you live?

Wow- I have never heard of support kids... What exactly is it? The problem is my x just doesnt seem the need to work. I live in Elkhart, Indiana

Support Kids is an organization that helps people get back the child support that is owed them. My sister and her ex-husband were divorced in Indiana so she's always had problems going through the court system there. He moved around a lot so it was hard to track him. She's been trying to get things moved over to Ohio but it's been a long process. She contacted Support Kids last year and she's been getting some child support ever since. You could probably do a google search to find out their contact info.
