Ok so long story short here. I accumulated a big bit of debt.....judgments and all. I really want to clean up my credit report in a year. Is this possible. My credit score is 418 right now. I feel so dumb saying that...but first rule of fixing prob is saying there is one. So here goes.

I have 5 or 6 medicals, a few utilities, a few judgments. A car, and a few other things. Totals to 19 collections with 2 or 3 of those paid. But I have 1 in good standing. I got a credit card with a friend and thats on there. And my BF has put me onhis accounts for DISCOVER and AMERICAN EXPRESS.

Any thing will help. Do you think a year is realistic? Is there anything else I can do???

I really think the judgements are going to be a downer?

If you are thinking of repairing your credit in one year, you will have to give more stress to the monthly payments you will be sending to the various companies listed in your credit report. How are you planning to make the payments? Are you considering a consolidation program for this purpose? If so, explain your requirements to the consultant so that he can plan your repayments accordingly.

Besides, there are other ways by which you can improve your credit ratings. Most of the times, the CR shows some inaccurate information that hurts the scores. These need to be removed immediately from the file so that the file improves. Read this page and understand the areas where your credit report needs improvement.

Judgments are negatively hurting your file. And there is nothing that you can do to remove it before the due time. But, while you will be looking for new credit in the future, the lenders will review your payment history with keen interests. They will look how you have been repaying your past accounts. Based on this history, they will extend credit to you. So, it is better to think two steps ahead of time when you are trying to do the repair.

debt validation letters are sent to collection agencies only for knowing the accounts that they collect on behalf of the creditors.

When you are disputing with the credit bureau over some unknown item in your credit report, you have to send a dispute letter. You don't have to send a debt validation letter to them.

Like I asked you earlier, if you are considering taking a consolidation program for making the payments, the consultant will arrange all negotiations with your creditors. You won't have to worry much when you have taken professional help.

Is there a way to make a request to the people have judgments against me, that I have it removed from my credit report? Is that Possible. How much is a regualr consolidation? I have about 10K in debt

Yes, you took it correctly. :D

Judgments can't be removed from the file before 7 years if it is a legitimate one. But if it is there in your file due to some clerical mistake, dispute with the credit bureau reporting it. They will investigate and then fix it up in your file.

Take the free counseling from the consultant if you have requested for it in this site. He will call you up shortly after receiving your contact information. The counseling does not have any charges. It's free here. However, some individual consolidation programs have some charges. That will be told to you by the consultant only. You can ask him the complete details before getting started with it.
