How to remove collection company

How do I remove a collection company who has since sold it to another company that is appearing on my credit report??


My orginal creditor was Lowes, they sold it to LVNV FUNDING LLC who then sold to Resurgent Capital Services, LP. LVNV still shows on my report. Are they the same company??

yes they are.send DV and C&D letters to both.once the letters are received dispute both entries on your credit report.see who is left after that.send the letters certified mail return receipt.

LVNV does the reporting and Resurgent does the collecting. LVNV owns the debt, they did not sell it to Resurgent. What state do you live in? When was the last time you paid on the account? LVNV's policy is to poison your credit for the maximum amount of time allowed by law - 7 years + 180 days for the Date of First Default.

NICE, I live in PA, I have been paying them through a collection agency. I never did receive a validation I did request one. I am just trying to get my credit cleared up and I tried to refinance my home and I saw that the are on my credit report. How do I get them off it, I am paying on it
should I continue??
