Welcome to the forums :D I believe that after tomorrow(Jan 2), December's payment would be late and your mortgage company can report it to the credit bureau as being 30 days delinquent.

The mail is probably slow right now b/c of the holidays and don't forget there is no mail tomorrow(Jan 2) b/c of the President's funeral. They should probably have your check by the end of this week.

I'm really not sure, but they might take into consideration of the holiday mail time and no mail tomorrow b/c of the funeral. My car note goes all the way to CO, and they haven't received it yet b/c of the bad weather down there. I mailed it Dec 18. Now that I think about it, some companies go by the postmark date on your letter, so you might be safe.

If your payment day falls on a holiday or weekend, then the next day will be considered your due date. Since both Monday and Tuesday are holidays your payment will be due on Wednesday. Your payment for December might not be considered late since December 31st was on a Sunday. This might be the one time you get lucky with they reporting to the credit reporting agency
