Hi,

I have an entry on my credit report from Kansas Counselors, a collection agency representing Everest communications, a provider of Cable Tv, Internet and Phone that I had service with.

Long story short, I terminated service with Everest Communications, returned their equipment, paid the account in full, and then the next day had Time Warner come and install their services. Months later Everest Communications called me and claimed I was STILL receiving their services. This is completely impossible as Time Warner had to get clearance from Everest Communications to take over all the connections i.e.; Cable, Internet and Television that Everest had to turn over to Time Warner. Over a verbal phone call with Everest they agreed it was their mistake and I would NOT hear from them again. Till I see the entry on my credit report from their company.

I owe Everest Connections squat... yet these idiots are pinging my 3 Credit Reports for 800 bucks... they can pound sand.

I sent a Certified Return receipt formal debt validation letter... 30 days later nothing was ever sent to me in any form.

I then sent a Cert. RR letter to follow up informing them they were in violation of the FCRA etc... and that I would litigate if I did not see the entries disappear.

I fully expect willfull non-compliance from these clowns...

What should be my next step..?

Hi Kansas_Guy,

Welcome to the community!

File a dispute with the credit reporting agencies, with copies of proof of what you stated above. Sometimes the collection agencies ignore DV letters and continue to pursue collection activities.

Also send the CRA the copies of the letters you have sent to Everest.

Good luck, keep us posted!
