I have been repairing my credit for the last 3 months. I found that there was a judgement entered against me in March 2005 by Resurgence Financial. I filed CH7 "BEFORE" they went to court. I was told by my bankruptcy attorney that since they were included in my bankruptcy I didn't need to appear for the court date. Being that I have limited knowledge of the law and trusted my attorney, I didn't go to the court date. I was found in default and a judgement was entered against me and has been on my credit report for 4 years now. I finally figured out what I was supposed to do to get it taken care of and it was "dismissed without prejudice" on 2/26/09. The judgement is still on my credit report (even though it should have never been on there in the first place) and I have not received any paperwork informing me of the dismissal. (I looked it up online in the public court records) I believe this judgement has caused severe damage to my credit score and may have caused me to be denied credit on several occasions over the last 4 years. Do I have any legal recourse against Resurgence Financial or my so-called "lawyer" for the damage this has done to my credit score for the last 4 years?

So me and my brother have joint accts b/c our name and social sercurity number is 1 letter or number off. So when I pull up my credit score his show up and vice-versa for him. Please I need help or a push in the right direction to help fix that
