Has anyone ever heard of Personal Credit Services based out of New York?

I can't seem to find anything reputable on Personal Credit Services; this likely means that they are yet another of the thousands of "credit" companies trying to scam money out of people.
Are they harassing you for debt that you didn't accumulate? If so, dont' send Personal Credit Services money unless they can validate it in writing!

Personal Credit Services is a loan company but they are requesting money from me and then they will send me a list of loan companies that will help me get a loan. They requested $125.00 and I checked the BBB website and they are registered but I'm still skeptical about sending them this money because I don't know of anyone that has actually dealt with Personal Credit Services.

Is it like a payday loan? I wouldn't trust getting a loan from anyone other than your bank...mainly because these outside companies charge very high interest, have hidden fees, and eventually become more of a pain than it's worth. If you can avoid it, please try to do so!

No it's not a payday loan company and Personal Credit Services did tell me upfront that the interest rate may be about 14% due to my credit history. I have tried to get a loan through my bank but have been unsuccessful because my credit history is bad. Do you know of any places besides payday loan companies that I will be able to obtain a loan with a bad credit history?

It's hard to tell what loan companies are legit and which ones are scammers. If the people you have spoken to in this case have been helpful, friendly, and within the US, you can give it a shot. Just remember that you're walking on glass with loan companies...read ANY contracts they give you. Ask them questions, be suspicious. If there is any chance of the interest going up, don't do it. Just make sure you have all of the details. If they still seem ok, go ahead and get a loan with them. But only take what you are able to pay back!

Hi MSCLOUD,
If you decide to apply with this company, would you please let me know how it goes? I am also looking for a legitimate loan company. Thanks very much.

I would be very skeptical of Personal Credit Services. They have an unsatisfactory record with the BBB. As Lindsey said, carefully look over the documents received. Make sure they are legal documents. Another thing to question, is the fact that they do not provide loans in North Dakota. Please be very careful when dealing with loan companies. What is the 125.oo fee for?

I was told that the $125.00 fee is a fee that is paid so that they can provide you with a list of companies that will gurantee you approval of the loan that you apply for. I have not paid them any money I've been doing a lot of research on them and I continue to flood them with e-mail questions and they have been pretty quick about responding to all of my questions. I'm still researching but if I do decide to go with this company then I will post the experience I had with them.

That does sound a bit far-fetched though. After all the scams that are out there, I am skeptical of everything that I hear. I wish you luck if you do decide to go through with it.

I just payed that 125 dollar fee for personnal credit services. The fee changes based on how much you want to borrow the lower you want to borrow the lower the fee. My bank shows (because I used my visa debit card) the fee has taken place but then only thing i have gotten so far is a letter saying thank you and that I should recieve an email pretty soon usually within 24 hrs. I did this sunday afternoon

Hi Ninjacadden

Do you wish to pass on this message to Personal Credit Services?

I believe that if you contact their customer care cell, it will be pretty fast.

I belive Personal Credit Service is one of those sites that charge you a fee,and then give you a list of loan companies that you could easily find your self on the internet. You still have to apply yourself and may still get turned down. This is a form of scamming, they guantee a loan, but payday loans are on the list they give you,so they you cant say that you did not get any offers. These sites are all over the place.Let us know when you get the list, what companies they list for your.

Hi G

If you have not sent any money to Personal Credit Service, please refrain from doing any business with them.

Personal Credit Service is scamming people who have applied for the loan amount. They are tough to be located physically so you need to be careful on this note.

This is the wors't scam I have encountered so far. I waited 'till the very end to finally hire these people. I sent them $300 & what I got in return was creditors that I had already applied with. Am I an idiot? Of course I already applied to these people.

Hi Linda,

Welcome to the forums.

I try to pass this word as much as possible. No legitimate loan company will ask for money upfront. Sending $300 as upfront to them or any other loan company is a bad decision. As you have learnt from the past, hopefully you will not make this mistake again and do some proper researches on loan companies before entering into any agreement.

Regards
Roxette

They said they are members of the united states chamber of commerce and when I contacted them thy said they are not a member. USCC told me to contact the Better Business Bereau & I did. The phone number is correct but the address is totally different although they are in NY but not the city they listed. BBB said there are 23 complaints against these services and the company would not resspond back to any of the complaints. Its a scam. DON'T APPLY!!!

Yakita, Personal Credit services is a rip off. Perhaps, it is doubtful that you will get your refund but you must file your complaint at the local AG's office as well as the FTC and the BBB. They must have received similar complaints against this company and maybe in a situation to take some legal actions. You also need to include your complaints for investigation.

i was strongly considering sending this company the money for the lender names. i did a search and found this site and i'm so glad. it struck me odd that they don't have any phone support. you would think that any reputable company would want to make sure they were available for their clients. people should not be allowed to get away with this. it sucks to try to figure out how to catch up on bills and have christmas and everything else but it would have sucked worse if i had paid them money i don't have for nothing!! thanks to everyone who took the time to research them and post!

Unfortunately I was scammed as well. I was looking for a personal loan to consolidate my debt. they sent a list of lenders, however none of them would approve me for the full amount i requested. Personal Credit Services says they cannot offer me a refund since i was offered loans from several banks...kinda defeats the purpose of consolidating though! Does anyone know if filing a dispute with the credit card I used to pay for Personal Credit Services will get me anywhere?

Thanks!

Thank God that i found this forum as well. I was just about to send them $100 as well. I am desparate for a loan and I don't want another payday loan, I just can not afford it. I'm only looking to borrow from $1500-$2100. Do anyone know of some places to go with good approval rates. I don't think my credit is bad but my score is low from inquiries and i have a high debt to ratio. I'm glad we are finding out about these scamming sites, but has anyone found anything legit other than the normal companies that have already denied most of us.(citifinancial, american general finance, etc.) PLEASE HELP! Anyone know of anything, email me ASAP as
