Has anybody ever dealt with them. I think they are the collection agency for Rio Resources?

They are. See the link

http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/creditors-information/about13230.html

You can use some debt settlement methods with the debt collector later. First, you have to get the debt validated by them. This will confirm through debt validation that they are legally entitled to collect the debt from you. The burden of proof is on the debt collector, not you. You also have the rights to request verification if the details given by the collector is found disputed.

Yes, ACA is a Debt Collection Company. They use Attorney Norman Kalina's name as a intimidation tactic to collect on debts. I called Norman Kalina's office and spoke to him directly. It was not a nice call. He told me that he has nothing to do with ACA and to never call him again. I reported ACA to the FTC, because they are falsey identifiying themselves as an attorney's office, when in fact they are not. The number that they leave is for their ACA office, NOT Norman Kalina's.

These clowns at ACA have been harassing me, and once I read your post, I felt SO much better. And I think it is great that you reported them to the FTC. I have a good mind to follow your complaint with one of my own!

I know for a fact that "Norman Kalina"'s office would not be calling after 9pm. They actually do not make calls after 5pm. So, I do not know who really called you - but I guarantee it was NOT his office. So, I also hope that you got the full name and phone number of the person who called you.

These idiots called my work place and left a message, #1 that is illegal as all get out. When I got home I reported them to the Federal Trade Commission and to our State Attorney General for this action. As well as, we owe them no money, they have not attempted to contact me at home, nor have I gotten any mailings from them, according to Ask.com and google they are not legal and the attorney's do not exist. This is nothing but a scam to get your money, don't pay them a penny.

I just received a letter from ACA recovery trying to collect money for a debt for advertising through an regional online yellow pages company that tried to sell me advertising/ listing under false pretexts. I cancelled the online advertising last fall , as soon as I learned what in fact their listing entailed and did not entail, both in writing and in person, and heard nothing from them for six months and now they are going through ACA. CAn you please tell me what do I need to do to insure that I have proof of mailing and sending my letter disputing the alleged debt?

you should pay extra for the certified mail --collectors can and DO ignore simple certifieds gren cards mail and often do not not accept them... (especially the bottom feeders!!!!) if you pay the extra $ ......you can be assured that someone will sign and you will get proof of their name and time they accepted the mail!

Our church has had the same problem with Regional Yellow Pages and ACA Recovery. They keep calling. It is not a legitimate bill or claim. From my research, I have found that there is very little that can be done without legal action. If you never made an agreement with them you don't owe them any money. Don't take their phone calls if you can avoid it. And don't give them any additional information (phone numbers, addresses, fax numbers). Whatever you do, don't send them any money, and don't authorize a credit card payment. They may call and call and harass you, but they have no legal foot to stand on and they can't make you pay money you don't owe.

I just received a letter from ACA wanting money for a check that was stolen and cashed at TOY's R Us over 3 years ago. I have cleared up all of the 25 checks that were stolen. This is the first time I have received a notice that this check was not cleared up. I have the date I called Certegy and got it cleared up. Certegy is a whole new nightmare. Should I cal them and tell them to blow it out their _ _ _?

I just received a phone call from a Linda Banks saying that she works for a law firm ( Richie Norman) when I looked the number up it states that its a total scam (ACA). I never ordered this product. Why can't these people get off their behinds and get real jobs. Everybody I know actually has to work for their money. This lady was so rude it was unbelievable. Just what someone wants in the morning. What a great start to the day. I already had reported regional pages to the bbb now I guess I have to also report this because they have nothing to do with an attorney with that name.

I got a fraudulent call from them at my business its all fraud! I'm am the only one at my business allowed to authorize any transactions and yet somehow my pee on trainee employee some how authorized a major purchase! Do what I do, get back at them by calling them when your bored and waste their time, I have about 300 friends who owe me a bunch of favors and they all just call and BS them along. I suggest everyone on this forum to do the same! their number is 201-336-1026

We just got a call from "Linda Banks" here at my work, claiming we'd signed up for some Yellow Pages junk, and that we owe $1600 now. It's funny how "Linda Banks" sounded like someone of a foreign nationality, not an American like her name suggests.

The next funny thing is this...a girl here at work has been receiving calls from some SSM company that claims she asked for a payday loan from them in the amount of $200. Payday loans are illegal here in NC, and she never asked for it either. Somehow, those people got her banking info and dropped $200 in her checking account. She called the bank and told them what happened; they withdrew the $200 that had been illegally deposited, and started her a new checking account.

The real oddity here is that both these "cases" have the same "case number." Yet the amounts supposedly owed on each one are wildly different...they say that the girl who supposedly got the payday loan now owes $230, and our business owes $1600 for the Yellow Pages scam.

How could these two "case numbers" match when they're two totally different things? I know it's all a huge scam, but that was way too easy to figure out.

It's just getting extremely annoying, with these people calling our business all the time. I really wish someone could lock these idiots up.

Also received this collection letter on 8/13/10. Called ACA immediately to see what they are up to. Upon talking to their customer service, I demanded back up documentation to be provided within one week either by fax or mail to satisfy proof of purchase. They refused to do so saying that it was "done over the phone." I restated my demand and told them to send me the information within one week so I can forward it to my lawyer to review. I further reminded them that failure to do so, this will be reported as a scam. They lady immediately hung up on me.. (how classy).

I am going to follow previous post's instruction to send them a physical dispute letter and DV form.

After these hustlers sent me a collections notice, i had one of my veteran friends in new jersey recon the location listed on the letter they sent me. 38 E Ridgewood Ave. is a UPS store. the old 3 story building is not what i pictured when i reviewed their letter. iI is shamefull that this trash would try and hustle a veteran who served to protect their freedoms. I hope the Attorney General & FTC come down hard on them. They deserve what ever reprocussions they get.
