I have been contacted by a company called Bass enterprises. They say they represent the U.S National Bank (which I couldn't locate on the web) Supposedly Platinum B services is in default to this bank and this company has been retained to collect the money I owed PBS. I don't hink i owed them anything. These guys threatened to have me arrested. They say I owe 287 I sent them $100 Has anyone had experience with Bass enterprises

If you know you took out the loan, i would say to pay it back/ after you have paid request a letter stating that you paid.......(for your records)...who did you talk to? Was she nice?

You have a debt and it has to be paid. Get the info about the debt from the collection agency before sending your money. You need to make sure about your money is going to the right place. Also it will look good if you can get it in writing that they will be posting your info with the creditors.

Yep, they call themselves Bass Enterprises as well. I actually received a call from them while I was on vacation last week. The lady started out being rude and making fasle statements before I even got a word in. I told her that I filed bankruptcy 4 months ago and they should have received something in the mail by now. She then asked me for my bankruptcy information, but I told her I didn't have any of that with me while on vacation and I would have to get back to her. She tried to deny she was a collection agency and proceeded to tell me she had three charges to file against me for my county. She mumbled some other stuff and then hung up on me....while all this was going on, I heard other people in the background yelling. (probably at other customers)
How do they expect people to pay them and cooperate with them when they start being rude, yelling and telling lies right in the beginning.

Sam, this is one of the WORST collection agencies I think we have. They have threatened nearly all of us with arrest and some other threats. I don't even think this company is licensed, I believe they used to go by Ellis and Crosby and they were shut down by FL AGs office. They deserve to be thrown in prison.

They need to get sued, that's for sure. Unfortunately, it sounds like debtors with PDLs must make particularly good targets, or else especially bad clients.

I e-mailed a consumer lawyer in FL last week, and he said he hasn't had a potential client with a lawsuit against Bass in years. It seems impossible from the reports on this website. If every debtor on this site got a good record (whether backed by careful notes or a tape recording) of an arrest threat, Bass would be out of business.

I had my first run-in with them yesterday. I got a call at work, was told that I was facing criminal charges, given a tenative case number and basically threatened like the others. I was so stunned that immediately I asked what could be done to stop the court proceedings. To think that these 3 charges could be filed against me...I don't even have a speeding ticket!!! I was told that I have to pay $678.50 for a $250 loan. I've paid $340...should I contact the lender at this point??? I don't know what to do!

I have read a number of these complaints about Bass and Associates and they are so very similiar to what I have been going through. I spoke with a Sunny who was rude and screaming at me. I tried to make arrangements and he said no. They already took more than I borrowed and now they want more than I owe! Then I spoke to Bruce he was ok he tried to help but this company is relentless. Then there was Kimberly she was RUDE, she threatened me. She accused me of fraud, theft and other things. She was yelling in my ear told me that I would be arrested. She accused me of "refusing to pay" I told her I never refused and that they got alot of my money already. She then said that Bruce shouldn't have made any arrangements with me in the first place and that if it was her she would have processed me in the beginning. I wish I could have recorded this call, it was definitely threatening and upsetting. She refused to give me a copy of this "contract". She refused and said that she didn't work for me. I have never in my life dealt with anything or anybody like this.

I also have been threatened by this Company to be arrested. I borrowed a $300.00 loan, and was told I was going to be sued for fraud, and have to pay back $745.00 for a $300.00 loan. Already I have paid $535.00,because of being scared. The collector has called me at work, and home with threats.

I just want to know can they actually make me pay for these extra 3 extra charges, of fraud criminal, and the cost for the loan lenders to pay the collection agency. Because I have paid 535.00 alrady which I do not have. I really do not want to give no more money. I did not receive any type of paper-work in the mail or documentation of the total amount owed. The loan was for $300.00, and I have paid more for what the actually loan is for. $745.00 total is not right. Give me an answer

Tell Sonny that you need this debt validated before you send them any money. If they refuse to validate the debt tell them you will be reporting them to the AG's office. They use very illegal tactics to scare people into paying crazy amounts of money. Don't back down and stay firm with them.

Soo Broke,
Welcome, you have come to the right place! First off, they are blowing smoke u-know-where. They CAN NOT arrest you for defaulting on a PDL, so you can tell them to stick it where the sun don't shine. Research the PDL laws in your state first and chances are that you only have to pay back principle plus a legal interest rate. You can find laws on the forums by doing a search.

Rachel these collectors are complete clowns. They are not going to contact the state on you. They are trying to scare you into coughing up more money. DO NOT PAY THIS COMPANY A DIME. And please don't be afraid of their false threats. You won't be arrested, you won't have charges pressed against you, you won't be downloaded (whatever the hell that means, but they like to say that), and if you have children you won't be losing them. I can not stand these idiots.

These clowns are as bad as the mafia with these name changes for every day of the week. Here is something anyone that is told they are law enforcement should do. File a complaint with your local FBI office and of course the Florida Attorney General. Clowns need to do time for these tactics they are pulling. The heck with money, lock them up now!!!

If anyone has info on u.s. national bank please let me know. Because they are not in the u.s. and the feds. want them real bad. I would file a complaint on them. My state DFI wants them on a platter lol.

As far as the contact info for paragon just type in the name on the search bar it will bring up some posts on them.. I have posted the contact info on a previous post.

Florida attorney general is.If I can get enough people involved,I would like to start a criminal investigation too. If they say they are police, call FBI and do a complaint. If they say they are attorneys,go to the florida state bar website and do a complaint. On the acting like police tactics, also go to ic3.gov and file a complaint. If these federal offices get enough complaints, they will have a good reason to act. Nothing would make me happier than to see the FBI breaking down their door and closing shop.

I called paragon today. Whoever I spoke with did not want to help me at all. I told her that I did not want to work with Bass & whoever else they want to call themselves. I asked her for their phone number she gave me 866-856-1024 and I asked her what collection agency it was for she said I-collect. I know somehow these two companies are connected but why arent they calling me and helping me out instead of Bass & Associates or whatever. Has anyone dealt with I-collect? How did they treat you? Did they help you in setting up payments so that you can clear what you owe? Because Bass & Associates are liars. I checked them out on jacksonville.bbb.org and it states that they are a collections agency not a law firm or "firm". And they have NUMEROUS complaints against them and they have only replied to 1 and the rest of the complaints are still waiting for a response. I am supposed to send money to these ingrates tomorrow and I am very hesitant to do that because of all the things I am finding out about them. There is no website for them. Their address is a UPS store. I mean, really, are they working from a basement?

LadyKat- I wouldnt send them a PENNY. They got me back in Jan......I threatened me with internet fraud/I was going to be arrested if I didnt come up with X amount by 2:00 pm their time......They refused to send me anything in writing and just treated me TERRIBLE on the phone. I'm sure the complaints you saw against them is from ME :) I wouldnt send them a thing! Get it in writing first.....

Lady,
Probably what happened was that paragon sold your account to I-collect, then I-collect turned it over to Bass to collect for them. I-collect doesn't even want to give out their address but I got it from my state DFI. I would make sure you file a claim with your states ag and with florida. Bass needs to be shut down.
