If you are staying home, traveling, going out to eat, etc...wont you share with us whats on the menu OR just even your favorite dish around the Thanksgiving table?

We have such a diverse and regional board, it would be neat to see the different types of dishes and culinary traditions we have here on the board.

Hee hee hee! What was I thinking?? Good thing I checked the recipe!! :P

1 can of cream-style corn
1 can of whole kernel corn
1 cup of sour cream
1 stick of margarine
1 box of Jiffy corn muffin mix

Mix corn and muffin mix. Melt margarine and add. Stir in sour cream. Bake 45-60 minutes at 325 or until desired doneness.

My aunt made it one time and it came out kind of like cake, mine is always way more mushy - but still "YUMMO"!! Ha ha! :)

All I know is I am jealous. I can not cook that well and quite honestly, do not wnat to for three people. Now if we were having italian food for Thanksgiving, I would be all over it. One of the things I love my mom used to make was french style green beans cheese suace and slivered almonds or water chestnuts depending on the preference. I also am dying for spinach dip... Damn, now I have to go to the grocery..and make spinach dip. :? My sone is trying to guilt me into cooking and I did buy the turkey (only a ****) stuffing, tialian green beans, potatoes and the stuff to make rolls and gravy. I can make great yeast rolls.

Okay, here you go Kash:

INGREDIENTS
1 (20 ounce) can crushed pineapple, drained
1 (3 ounce) package instant pistachio pudding mix
1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
1/2 (10.5 ounce) package miniature marshmallows

DIRECTIONS
In a large bowl, combine the pineapple and dry pistachio pudding mix. Fold in thawed whipped topping and marshmallows until well mixed. Refrigerate until chilled and serve.

**It says to drain the pineapple, but I like to leave a little juice in it myself, then it doesn't have such a "sticky" or "cakey" texture.

Hope you like it!

I know a lot of you will not be on here tomorrow so I thought I would wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving! Lets not forget the meaning of it either before we stuff our faces with all the great food mentioned in this thread. What is better than smelling that turkey cooking with the sound of the parade in the background on TV followed by football!

OMG..We went out to eat tonight, and there was something that looked like chocolate mousse on the salad bar. My little boy took some, and when we sat down he decided it looked odd. He smelled it, and said it had to be rotten, it smelled awful. I said he was crazy, and I leaned over and took a huge spoonful and popped it in my mouth. OMG!!!! It was NOT mousse, it was liver pate! EWWWWW! It took forever to get the nasty taste out of my mouth, ugh!!!

Well. Thanks for asking. Kitty is still hanging in.I have become quite the nurse. I never thought that I would be able to give an IV treatment. I suppose we all do what we have to do. I am so depressed over this. I will do everythung possible, amd will only let him go, when he some how gives me a sign.He really is the sweetest thing and it kills me to see him like this.I spent the holiday tending to him, and it was what i was suppose to do.

kash, I am so sorry. When Holly was really, really sick, the vet actually suggested I put her to sleep. NO WAY! I took that dog home with me and stayed up for DAYS without sleep giving her medicine every two hours and forcing her to drink from a syringe. It took about a week and you should see Holly now. That vet really ticked me off. I think the love and comfort of being home helps your pet. And they get better attention from you. I am praying for your little boy. It breaks my heart to know he's sick and it's hurting you. Please keep my words in your mind, kash. Holly was bad. But now she is so wonderfully well. Your love will make all the difference.

I just lost his sister 2 months ago, so this is especially hard. I will do what ever it takes. Thanks for caring about us.
