When I was growing up there was the Galloping Goumet and Julia Child. Other guys were watching Combat and I was watching cooking shows. Then came Justin Wilson and Pierre Franey and that strange frugal gourmet guy Jeff Smith. Now there is the food network and also Create network. My wife records Lidia Bastanich every day so we can watch it at night. Rachel Ray has become her own corporation. Bobby Flay took Southwest to another dimension and and we all watched as the that chef lost his business in the reality show. The list is endless.
The weekend is starting and half the country is going to try a recipe they got from Jaques Pepin or Mariane Esposito. So tell me please, who is your favorite celebrity chef and why?

Definetly doesn't look or sound very heart healthy. But, who cares when it tastes good?! I remember watching Paula Deen make a pecan pie with bourban in it. She said "Put a little in the lie filling, and pour yourself a big glass on the side." i love how she takes huge bites of her food. Not one of those little bird eaters, but a real food lover.

I was the only one who ever heard of Nacotish meat pies besides Ang. Foodie bragging rights are mine!!!
I love empanadas. There is a Carribean bakery that I get them from. I used to get them from a Colombian guy I worked with. Every latin country seems to have a different style. Some are fried and a bright yellow color. Some are baked. They are all good. I also get something called Samosas from an Indian store. They are like a vegetarian version with potato filling. Very spicy

Hey frog, ur friend taught at The Lousiana school for Math, Science and the Arts???
My son was accepted into that school. Although we went and checked it out we decided against it as he would have to live so far away from home at such a young age. But WOW, an awesome school!
:D

Have any of you guys ever had Scandinavian food? I can remember having to eat lutefisk every Christmas season. Nasty stuff! I love lefse with lingonberry jam, though. And rosettes. I make those every Xmas and bring a box to work. They go in about an hour. But lutefisk is the nastiest stuff on the planet. :?
