More than one collector is not authorized to report on the same account. Dispute the item with the bureau. They will check with the actual collection agency having your debt and remove the other companies doing unauthorized reporting.

I am having this issue on my credit report. I have spoke with the most current collection agencey. They have said the bought the acct. So does this mean the collection agency that sold the acct. has to clear the collection off?

So if LVNV Funding LLC placed a collection on my credit report then passed it off to one of their many sister companies and the sister company did a hard inquiry, does the sister company need to remove their inquiry as they didn't validate or can this go though the whole spectrum of LVNV's company and they continue to pull hard inquires?
