i signed for my son's student loan ten years ago. I'm on social security and get very little. A collection agency calls me every two hours even though I told them how much I can pay. The loan is a little over a thousand dollars. They want three times the amount I can send and constantly harrass me saying they are going to garnishee my Social security. They want me so send fifty a month but I only get seven hundred social security a month. I can send thirty five but the refuse to accept it they say. What can I do?

Send them a cease communication letter. They are in violation of the FDCPA for calling you that frequently. You could sue them if they are a third party collector.
