on my credit report i have open credit card wfnnb/limited. How could I close it.

Hi Barbara

Welcome to the forums.

Please contact world financial network national bank at 1-800-695-5316 / 1-800-224-3114 and place your request to them.

After you know that you have paid all the balance in the statement, call your credit card company and verify that there is no remaining finance charge on your card. Once you get the verification done, send a letter to the company to close your credit card account. You should also follow up with a phone call so that you are sure of the account being closed.

I will offer you one suggestion here. If you have brought your card balance to zero and if there is no annual charge needed to keep the account active, I advice you to keep your account open.

The reason behind my advice is that the credit bureaus sometime review all your open credit card accounts. There is a swift increase in the credit scores if an account is open for a long time. But this can only happen, if you make your minimum payments regularly.

So, keeping your credit card open will have a good effect on your credit scores. And, your scores will have a boost if you make the payments in full within the due date and then leave the card without a balance.

Roxette
