I am currently in default with 3 payday loan companies-Interim Cash Limited, World Wide Cash Now, and AIP (American International Processing). World Wide Cash Now has threatened garnishment of my wages. Payday loans are illegal in the state in which I live (Georgia) and I have been referred to my local District Attorney's office by many websites that I've sought help from. The DA cannot help me and instead referred me to the local Legal Aid Society. According to them, I make to much money to qualify for their services (if they only knew.....). I need help and fast! I cannot afford to pay off all three of these loans. They call me on my cell phone and at work, especially Interim Cash. They even call me on weekends. I took all of these loans out in November and December and started defaulting on payments in March or April. I really can't afford to pay any of them anything right now and I just know they will be asking for outrageous amounts of money. What can I do? Can World Wide Cash Now garnish my check even though they are not registered in the state of Georgia?

Try getting together the laws in your state and emailing it in letter form to all the lenders. Search for letters in the forum. I used Polly's letter which you can find in her blog. I had good responses from 7 PDL's I had. Interim did not respond well, and are very difficult, but you might have success with WW cash and AIP. give it a shot.

I am battling World Wide Cash now. They have been harassing on a monthly basis claiming that they haven't recevied payment from T&C. When I contacted T&C, they done a check they had received the payments and cashed the check. It just seems to amaze me that when we try to contact them, we never get a response, but when they call all blessed day, they expect a return call. They think threatening us will make them look powerful, when in all actuality, they are doning nothing but making us fight harder. Don't let them smell any fear. They thrive on that.

I personally had no problems at all with Interim cash, but I know a lot of people have! They actually were probably the most polite pdl I had! As far as garnishing your wages...I do payroll stuff for a living, so here's what I know...I have never ever seen a payday loan company garnish. they try to trick people's employers by sending the wage assignment, but think about this. Most payday loans are only about $300. It costs the company well over $100 to file the judgement, and they have no guarentee that they'll even get the money they're trying to garnish for. Also, would a judge honor a judgement to a company that's acting illegally? Don't take my words as scripture...I'm sure it's been done. But...Seems to me that whenever these companies start threatening to garnish, that's when the wage assignment comes. So send a wage assignment revocation letter immediately to all of your payday lenders and your employer. You can search the forums to find a sample letter. Good luck!

I currently have 2PDL's, and find myself in a similar situation. Have emailed customer service, for both, and have received no reply. Am trying to work out something, but how can I if they don't respond. Payments are due towards both accounts on the 15th, and I don't have the money in my account. What do I do now? Am so afraid of what's going to happen. Need quick help. ASAP

Don't get scared, relax. You cannot solve the problem out of panic, right?

Do you have their contact number? You can call them in that case. Have you sent them letters or tried to contact through email? How much have you paid to them already? Please share more about you.

Many community members are battling against these lenders. You can join this forum to get in touch with those people and listen to what they say.

BTW, if your lenders do not get the money on the scheduled date, they would contact them by their own, don't worry.

I too have gotten into debt with PDL's - I was in a bad situation and could not get regular credit. I am reading some of these postings and I am really wondering if some of the companies on the Internet that I am dealing with are even acting legally - the interest rate is much much higher than the local companies in Denver, Colorado and I am not sure if cashtransfercenters is even able to do business in the State of Colorado. They sent my boss a wage garnishment without suing me. It looks like from reading, "wage assignment" is what the term would be. Anyway, I told my employer that I would work it out with them and to please not garnish me without a court order. Any suggestions on how to get out of this mess? I would like to get a loan and consolidate them but obviously do not have the credit, or I would not have gone to them anyway.

Have you talked with your lenders and make them aware about your financial situation? They might be able to work with you if you offer them partial payments regularly. You can also have some late fees waived off if you are regular in sending them money. Stick to your plan and the lenders will sense your responsibility.
