Ashland sent me to Collections

Interesting development today. The Minnesota Attorney General's Office sent Ashland Marketing a letter demanding their license number to lend in Minnesota.
Today I got an email from them: It says the following:
Applicant# 91421
Dear ,
Your account with Ashland Funding was sent to Debt Management Partners, 1-800-883-9067
Thank you,
iCollect
Now what do I do. I will contact the Attorney General's office and see if I can forward this email to them. But how interesting that this happens days after a letter was sent to them. I just hope they dont start calling my work again. So far all calls have stopped since the letter went out to the PDL companies.
Any ideas????

Here is an old discussion on the same situation. You may find it an useful reading. Seems like popular practice.
Anyway, I wouldn't have sweat much over it. If they call you just tell them that they are collecting on an illegal loan and hit them with a DV.
