The money is still at the company but they just do not know what to do about it. They are treating it as a regular garnishment and not a wage assignment.

Why would any company treat it as a garnishment, without proof from the courts? It just doesn't make sense. I would think that it would have to come from "District court of.. whatever sate" to be an offical garnishment. Can you also Have your court send you a letter stating you have no garnshments issued? Would that help?

I would try both of them. I would start with the clerk of courts for your District. Wiscosnin also has an online Ccap search where you can see if you have any oustanding items with the court, state wide.

I'd also do one in MN just to cover my butt, i'd start with the clerk of courts for the district that you would live in. But Garinshments have to be entered (I think) with the state that you live in.
