If I closed my bank account and opened a new one with the same bank. Can the PDL companies debit my new account even though I have NEVER given the account #?

The only way they could do that is if they sued you and won. If they did that they could garnish your bank account, by using your social security number to locate your actual account. If you are dealing with internet lenders, the chances of them suing you are very very small.

They do it all the time Polly. What happens is people close their bank account and then six months later try to get more payday loans. When they do, it's usually on a marketing site and the marketer shows the application to 5 or ten different lenders. If one of them happens to be a company you owe - BINGO! - they have your new bank information and you can expect a debit.
