finally....after an entire week of searching, i have found out who cash club vip are. they are actually registered under check equals cash and they are liscensed in michigan. i know maryland state laws prohibits pdl's but my conscious tells me i still need to pay the amount borrowed. after deducting the 180.00 in interest i already paid, this means i still owe them 120.00. what i really need to know, even if the ca they chose happens to be a major a-hole, can i still contact the pdl, through mail of course, and offer a payment agreement?

KAren..I bow to you. That has been bothering me and I have been researching on and off for that information. Did you get an address, phone number, etc. If so..would you please post it...there is very little to go on with that company and it may help someone else down the road.

I am confused and I am not doing the research..I find it best to error on the side of caution...which in this case - what do you have to loose by continuing with the dispute..The worst they could do is tell you that you do not have a case. It would be better than waiting 7 years and then finding out you could have done something about it.

karen, they've already turned you over to an outside collection agency. The collection agency has already reported to the credit bureaus. You need to be in contact with the collection agency. You need to ask for debt validation. If the collection agency hasn't contacted you yet & just went ahead and reported you to the credit bureaus, you need to dispute that now. The collection agency has to valid the debt. I am assuming (correct me if I am wrong) that since you have been having such a hard time contacting the pdl, that you have not been given written notice from the collection agency yet. Which means they are doing things backwards. They should have contacted you, you then ask for debt validation, then go from there. Not just never contact you and report you to the credit bureaus. Wrong, wrong, wrong. If you have the contact information for the collection agency, you need to contact them. You need to file complaints against them also IF they have done what I think they have. However, if they have contacted you & you didn't respond, then maybe that's why they reported you. Whichever. Post what exactly happened so we can go from there.

they contacted me on 9/10/07, i requested debt validation, he said the money going into my account was all the validation i needed. i sent them 3 debt validation letters. they first contacted me on 9/10, and by friday 9/14/07, they already reported to the credit bureau.

they never sent me any debt validation, the only thing i got in the mail was a bill for a bad check. i asked for a copy of the bad check, they then said it was for a payday loan with cashclub vip. they continue to give me the run around instead of sending me debt validation. the only contact i have had with them is through email and usps. they ignored all my request for debt validation, and then went ahead and report to my credit. i have filed with the ag, the ftc, the bbb, disputed my credit, and sent an email to the states attorney in california. they are doing everything they can to avoid the initial response of debt validation, and in a matter of 1 week, which is exactly how long it has been since they contacted me, they reported to the credit bureau!

my point exactly. but they have already damaged my credit. my credit score dropped from a 650 to 505 overnight! i already know they don't have any debt validation, and i also know the law states that if a company does not provide debt validation, that the consumer is not reliable for the debt. so how do i get this crap off of my credit report?

i have. it is just getting frustrating. according to budhibbs, this is one of the worst ca's to work with. they will not abide by the law, the have been sued on numerous occassions, have not repaid any of the judgements against them, yet they still continue to break the law, and it seems as though nobody will do anything about it

I know I am still learning the ins and outs of credit and finances but...One would think if you have a CA with judgements against them, that have not repaid these judegemnts, and continue to break the law, they would not be allowed to continue making entries on peoples credit reports???

Okay. The collection agency refuses to validate your debt. They have already reported to the credit bureaus (this is exactly what happened to me - jerks). First of all, they can stop saying "bad check" to you. Good Lord. There is no check. However, they are refusing to validate your debt. And they have already reported you to the credit bureaus. I believe you have done what you can do up to this point. You have disputed it with the credit bureaus, you have disputed it with the collection agency, you have filed complaints with the BBB, the FTC, and your state AG regarding all of this. Sit tight and wait. The credit bureaus will start their investigation. The BBB will contact the collection agency. And your state AG will be all over this if you included all details of how they refused to validate but yet still reported to the credit bureaus.

Oh, hell, yes! You need to file AGAIN with all agencies since they reported you to the credit bureaus! OMG! Yes! I spent all day today doing that. Filed with every government agency again, only this time for the collection agency reporting a negative collection account against me without validating it! Oh, honey. You need to file again with regards just to that. They will be on it!
