I was checking out old posts here on the pdl I have and I noticed that someone late last year, actually filed for mediation before the PDL company...So I did a little research and found that in Franklin County we have a mediation for PDLs, so I contacted them and asked if I could ask before the PDL and this is the repsonse I got back:

Mediation is not a formal court filing, it is an informal request for the parties to discuss the matter and possibly come to agreement. You may ask for mediation, but I would need to know ahead of time who the attorney for the lender is because I know of at least one who will not participate in mediation.

If the lender will participate, I would need names, addresses, and phone numbers for both parties, the amount of the claim, and a short description of the dispute.

If you go through mediation though won't you have to pay court costs and attorney fees and all? I was under the impression that if you lost the case, then you'd have to pay their attorney costs and the court cost. But I could be wrong. You may find yourself paying more money than you actually would have had to pay to begin with.
