Can I consolidate payday loans without turning them over to a collection agency? I don't have any defaults, but I'm not making any progress, just paying about $600 a month in interest.

I consolidated my payday loans with this company and I was referred to a consultant who did the negotiation with my creditors. Hopefully, I will be able to solve my debt related problems within the next few months.

You can also enter for a free counseling in this website and know your available options for debt repayment.

Thanks for that information. I am going to call the company as soon as I am out of work to consolidate payday loans. I mean I needed them at first and I have just been consistently paying nothing but interest. I took on a second job to be able to pay them off and it just doens't seem to be getting anywhere. If you don't mind me asking how much did you owe and what were your payments like? I would just like to get a really quick ballpark. I have too many because I thought it would solve problems a while back, but I DID learn a lesson. I use to have 8 and now I am down to 6, but it still adds up. I know once I have them under control I can save up and not worry abouthaving to need cash again. Thanks for your response.

The consultant will call you up at the phone number you entered during your registration in this website for a free counseling and give a plan to consolidate payday loans. In my plan, I opted to clear the debt as fast as possible and also I have some available cash in my hand. So I opted to pay $200.

Yes, payday loans are not less than a drug and their aftermaths are brutal.

I am in the same situation as you. I am interested to consolidate my payday loans as well. I did the same thing thinking that I could get ahead with taking out payday loans and now I am just trapped. I was paying about a 1000 a month in fees alone. I would like to get out of this whole and get ahead!!! thanks for the information.

I realized during this time that a proper negotiation is the thing that is most required to consolidate payday loans for getting rid of this problem. Thanks heaven, my consultant showed keen interest in negotiating with my creditors and I am able to feel the result of it.

Hopefully, I will be able to see the results of this hard work in my credit report very soon.

I have recently looked at my cerdit report, I monitor it monthly, and I do not have any payday loans on my credit report. Does it effect it negatively or positively at all with consolidation? None are on my report. Only my credit cards, student loan and car loan on that report, which is good. Will it stay that way?

If there is a debt that does not belong to you and stays in your credit report thus, giving negative information, then it will hurt your credit ratings.

However, if a debt has not been reported by your creditors and they are making collection efforts, then you need to negotiate with them in order to settle it off. If the creditors fail to recover the debt from the consumers, they report to the bureaus and this will affect your credit ratings.
An important tips to consolidate payday loans:
Please make sure that you do all the needful negotiations with your creditors before it is reported to the credit bureaus.

I wanted to consolidate payday loans and even went so far to set up an appointment with a local agency. I held off and tried to apply for a mortage loan. I asked the lender would my credit be effected if I did so? They advised me it was worst then filing bankruptcy. I want a new home and I'm trying to clean my credit up, but at the same time I want to pay these loan sharks off. Especially Ellis Crosby and Associates (who are threating to lock me up tommorrow morning at 9am. after they embarass me by speaking to my supervisor). I also would like to know if this maybe grounds for a harassment suit?

I would like some help on what to do about my payday loans. I thought these loans would help me, they are my biggest mistake. Allen Lewis called and said he was from a federal agency and would go to the place of employment and spot me. When I asked him which federal agency, he became angry. Said I commited fraud. Now it is on my credit report as trying to commit credit fraud. Would payday loan consolidation help? How do you start? where do I call?

Please report them to your state attorney general if they threaten you! You did not comit fraud and they are just another collection agency.
You can start here! Talk to Roxette she can help you

Hi aundreakendle

Please do not get tensed about the calls of Ellis Crosby. Their main intention is to scare you so that you start paying them hurriedly without a second thought. The FTC has issued some guidelines in the Federal and State laws for the consumers and we should feel stronger under this legal cover.

No collection agency can harass you or threaten you with jail. Since Ellis Crosby has been involved in such atrocious acts, their business is in stake. As a result, they have become furious and are involved in all sorts of unfair activities.

Please read the following content in the FTC link given below and use your consumer rights.

http://www.ftc.gov/os/statutes/fdcpa/fdcpact.htm

Waiting to hear from you.

I had a payday loan with this company. I have not talked to them since last September when Louisiana experienced Hurricanes Rita and Katrina. I just found my paper work. Do you think that my account is in default? Does it usually take this long for them to contact you regarding your loan. I closed my account in September but they managed to take their fee out before. There has been no reply or phone call from them since that time. Any help would be appreciated. I am not running away from this debt, I am kinda scared because I have read many thing about Ellis and Crosby on here. Thanks for any imput. Great job everyone. :D

Probably your accounts are in default. You did not pay it in full, did you? Then this account has entered delinquent mode already. Now it is difficult to anticipate what they will do with this account? They might call you back, or they might send it to collection. If you have the financial strength to pay it off, contact them, explain your situation and work out some payment plan. Hope they will cooperate with you. Keep us posted.

wendy,

You can contact T&C like many others in the forum have. T&C is a consolidation company and is one of the few that works with payday lenders. I would advise you to give them a call. I had 13 payday loans out and ive been in consolidation with T&C for the last 2 weeks. The interest fees were way too much too handle. Thank god i found this forum and contacted T&C. Let me know if you have any questions.

Hi, I have the payday loan cycle and need to exit. I can't pay them down as they are currently approximately $6500 a month in charges - yes that's right. I'm not quite sure how this happened. I sent a letter asking for payment arrangements and would prefer a consolidation company to handle these arrangements. Two questions - can they garnish or any way contact my employer at this time (I have been current on the payments.) and Are there any consolidation companies which work with payday loans?

Thank you.

They might try to contact your employer once you default. However, wage garnishment is a legal process and they need to win a judgment to garnish your wage. But they might send a notice of voluntary wage assignment to your payroll department. Most of the payday lenders get a voluntary wage assignment contract signed by debtors.

Your employer can dishonor your request and you can cancel this agreement any time. Yes there are few consolidation companies that work with payday loans. Please check your PM, I have sent you the information.

It will be in the best of your interest to contact the payday loan companies and arrange a payment plan with them. Explain your situation to them and offer them a realistic plan. If you stick to it, the company won't harass you.

Do all your correspondences in writing. This way, you will be able to file everything for records. Keep a follow up over the phone.

Corina--#1, they can't put you in jail.

Please sign up for this site, and a counselor will be in touch with you shortly. Also, search this site and you will find a LOT of information about PDL's and how to overcome the problems they bring. A lot of us are in your same situation, or have been in your situation.

The threat of jail and fines are becoming common threats among the pdl industry. That is their way of getting to you to immediately, no matter what you have to do without to pay them. There are more important things that need to be paid like you house payment, utilities, and putting food on the table. Like Jessi said, sign up on the site and a counselor will contact you.

I don't believe the PDL industry has any real idea that consumers (such as this site's members)are being enlightened as to their shady practices. I definitely see this site as offering a real public service by discussing the PDL's, their tactics and crooked methods of loaning money. The more people know the better off they will be.

Yes, I am registered with this website.

I have about 15 payday loans totaling about $4000-$5000 with all the interest. Some are off the net like Cash Net USA, National Payday, AppleFast Cash, Cash Central, B&L Marketing, and Interim Ltd. And the others are Allied Cash, Quik Cash, Advance America, The Cash Store, and Urgent Money.

We took some out and paid them and then got it back out cause we needed it for our house and bills. As you see, we got ourselves in a pickle. First time doing this and will be the last.

Anyways, is there anyone who can share to me which companies consolidates payday loans, PLEASE!!!

Talk with the consultant and know your repayment options. You can also make your own move by contacting your lenders individually and make them aware about your interest in paying the debts. Explain your financial problems and request some extensions. Some lenders are pretty easier to work, some are tough. But you must give a try and know the repayment amount. This will give you options when you will take a professional help. Compare and then make your financial decision.
