I was just informed that a pdl I had had been sent to Icollect for collections. Does anyone have any info on this company on how I should go about dealing with them. From my count I only owed the pdl 170 more on a 300 loan, but with all their fees and stuff I have a feeling they sent it to the collection agency for more. How do I go about paying only the amount borrowed to the ca?

icollect has been discussed many times.. my sister was sent to them for an illegal lender. they called, harrassed, etc. but in the end she ended up settling with the illegal lender. that is really all that i know about them, she never recieved anything in writing or anything from them.

Tell them they need to send you a dunning letter (letter of collection) as required by the FDCPA. You'll never receive one most likely, so, I would follow the advice of bea2ls and send out the DV.
