I was stupid and desperate at the same time. I will never make the same mistake again...never. How do I get out of this hell? I signed up with a debt counseling company for a monthly charge just to help manage these loans but they can't do anything about the calls at work. Any minute I feel like my wages will be garnished. This mess is affecting my health, my job, and my marriage. I am physical and emotionally drained. I have no family I can turn to. I am sure $3,000 doesn't sound like alot of money to some people but it may as well be a million dollars. Is there a loan company, a true legitimate loan company that I can go to for unsecured credit? How can I stop the interest/late charges/etc from accumulating? I am lost and am at my wits end. Any advise would be appreciated.

I don't have any experience with pdl's, but I'm sure someone will be along to help you soon. Please try to relax. A bill is not worth your physical health or your marriage. It's not the end of the world. Something that helps us, is that we try to take the emotion out of it - it's a bill and right now, it has to wait. Don't take out a loan to pay off another loan!

You can check the licensing status of these lenders in your state from the following link. If these companies aren't licensed in your state, then they may be operating illegally and you may not have to pay back more than the amount you've borrowed from them.

However, I don't think it'd be a great idea to get further loan to pay off the existing ones. You can get yourself into bigger mess by doing so.
There are some great sticky in the pdl forum. I'm sure you'd find them informative.

I know paydayone is legal and I believe cashnet is as well. I dealt with paydayone awhile back and they were willing to take a monthly payment arrangement from me. Cashnet was a little difficult to deal with and they actually reported on my credit report which I'm disputing right now. They received payment through my Debt management program after about three proposals.
