Thanks for the post, that is very interesting, I have a PDL with PayDay One, and that is the address I have for them. I am in WI and they are actually liscensed here.

yup, that's a common trick with the PDL companies - we've run into it before. There's one (either a collection agency or a PDL, I can't remember) that used a beauty shop as their address. There have also been cases of PDL's using addresses that belong to vacant office buildings.
I think their CEO drives through town, looks at an empty office building in a prestigious area of town, and says to himself..."ah, that looks like a good one - big enough building, professional-sounding address - that's the one!"

Yeah I found that out when I was dealing with Payday Select. They are in New Mexico but they use a mail drop in Delaware to take advantage of the lax interest laws in that state. The Delaware Attorney General must get tired of the complaints he gets against companies that are not physically there. You would think that a business would have to have a bonafide business address to be covered by the laws of a state. Thats a new topic to post!
Unbelievable! I just don't understand how they get away with it!
Unbelievable! I just don't understand how they get away with it! I am on my way to the bank to close my account, they better not give me a hard time, I'm not in the mood after reading all the crap these PDL's get away with! And we're the bad guys?! NOT! Sorry had to vent a bit.

We hear you, it is just crazy. I can't believe that delaware allows this to go on in their state. What does it say for the state of Delaware, not much.

Either that or it supports your theory that they are all one big company :} Maybe you are not as paranoid as you think!! :}
I know that Pay Day OK and AIP are not the same company at all .
I know that Pay Day OK and AIP are not the same company at all . . . . . They all just use it as a mail drop.

Okay. I'm not insane! AIP! That's the one that had the same damn address! I was going crazy! I'm not at home, so I couldn't look anything up! So, yes, this is what they do. I always wondered why sooooo many pdl's were in Delaware. Lax pdl laws. Using rented mail boxes for their addresses. Wonderful. I actually was googling a few other things and also (as posted by someone above) the addresses were buildings with like temp agencies, insurance agents, etc. in them. So, you know damn well, the pdl is not in that building. They are small "office" buildings with various companies in them. Okay, so they rent an office space and use it as their address. It just amazes me. I need to stop looking things up because the more I find out, the madder I get. I don't know why I continue to be amazed. But, I am. Doesn't it just burn you up though? Knowing they can do this and get away with it???? Buy a "pdl manual", set up a fake address, rent a mail box, and rip people off. Totally amazing.
Interesting Information
I have some interesting information about another pdl! Payday Cash Link is apparently no longer (if they ever were) located at 547 E. Sahara, PMB #12, Las Vegas. My letter revoking my ACH to them came back return to sender, attempted, not known, unable to forward!
That was my mystery loan and the one that gave me an additional
That was my mystery loan and the one that gave me an additional loan without my consent..I guess my letter will be comming back to me too...

Oh, crap! Check this out. Since the BBB still has this address listed for them:
Payday Cashlink
547 E. Sahara Ave. PMB #12
Las Vegas, NV 89104
1-866-669-6918
However, underneath its unsatisfactory report, this was posted:
License Information
As of 7/31/2007, the Bureau has been UNABLE to confirm this company has a valid local business license
BBB Definition:
License - A permit or accreditation required by the State, Province, County or Municipality where a company is located indicating competence or professional certification that allows the company to provide products or services related to their particular field or industry.
for the locale in which they operate. IF A CONSUMER DOES BUSINESS WITH AN UNLICENSED FIRM, THEY DO SO AT THEIR OWN RISK.

On another note, the mail that I received back marked "returned/moved/left no address", I made a copy of the envelope with that on it and included it in with my complaints to the agencies. If I had already filed complaints before receiving the mail back, I "updated" my complaints and included this information. Just to let them know the pdl was "on the run" and that I did attempt to contact them. You might want to save those returned letters, make a copy of the envelope, and update your complaints with them all.
payday trouble
I want to know if anyone closed an account to avoid these continual high charges from these payday companies and setup a payment agreement less than what they charge?

k, we actually advice closing your bank account, HOWEVER, before advising that we must know what state you reside in and who your pdl's are. This way we can check the laws regarding pdl's in your state and also check regarding any kind of criminal action. So, if you could please post what state you reside in and what pdl's you are dealing with, we can check for you and let you know where you stand as of this moment. :D
