(3) Payday loans - need to get out of the cycle
Date: Sun, 07/05/2009 - 00:56
The second one is through Advance America (applyadvanceamerica.com) and it's for $600 (total with fees is $750).
And the slick one is cashnetusa.com - I borrowed $500 ($125 each payday for fee) and I put a stop payment on the $125 but then they put it through as (2) instances of $62.50 to get past the stop payment and get their money...now I'm in for another overdraft because of that...
I found a company called Langhorne Debt Solutions to try to settle these, but I haven't personally talked to them yet to see what that all entails. Has anyone used them? Are they legit?
I just want to get out of these and move on with my life without have them consistently contacting my parents and leaving rude voicemails on their machine! I guess that's the first thing I want to stop.
I want to know the best way to get them to accept a payment arrangement rather than forcing me to pay in full and reapply time and time again.
Oh yeah, I'm in Wisconsin....
Thanks for all of your help!!

I checked the license database for WI "http://www.wdfi.org/fi/lfs/licensee_lists/" and found all of them to be licensed in the state. So you need to pay them the principle amount borrowed and the finance and interest charges as applicable. So the best thing is to settle the debt for less by registering with a good debt settlement company.
You can check the link http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/paydayloan/settlement-agreement.html for more information on Langhorne Debt Solutions.

How can you tell the op to use a debt settlement company without knowing the details? Do you work for one?
I mean really. You never seem to give info. All you do is tell people to use a consolidation company.

Here is my information from a PDL owners position. The DSC's serve no purpose. They collect money from you and until thier fees are collected and a "bank" built up to pay the loans, there is nothing done. The lenders will still call and in many cases, refuse to work with a DSC. Everything that they do for a fee is the same thing that you can do for free. Do not waste your money!!!
I have attempted to work with 3 of the DSC's due to my "relationship" with my customer and all 3 of them were a waste of time and money. BTW, I did get paid eventually, but all the DCS did was to charge the customer a fee (one around 25% of the debt) to pay me in full.
