how easy is it to go it alone and try to work with pdl's. i currently am going with pdl debt assistance.

Really depends on who you're dealing with and how many. Please tell us the state you live in, who you borrowed from, interenet or storefront, amount borrowed and amount paid back for each PDL. Someone will be able to advise you from there.
