I just got an email from gf about 500fastcash. She emailed emailed them last week with the help of a template letter I got from morningstarr.....she said she got a call at work from a "william" and he started harrassing her about how she didnt make a payment and she told them that they werent even licensed in her state and he said they didnt have to be- they dont go by her state laws they go by OK laws? Now, I thought that after she told them in her email not to call her place of employment they were suppose to follow it? Also, arent they suppose to go by OUR state laws not theirs?

Tweety in Indiana they are to follow Indiana law...a lot of the ipdls do not pay attention to the C&D letters we send however it is good to have the paper trail for our complaints with the authorities, etc. This is a MTE dba and we all know how perisistant they can be...just have your friend tell them she is not allowed to take calls at work and as such they are breaking the law...she can work with them through email.

Hi all. I agree with Frogpatch. Emails are a waste of time with this company. I had to deal with them and I had some luck with faxing. I must've sent them 5 or so emails and they never, ever responded. They responded when my account went into default and I sent them a fax. (Probably the default had more to do with it than the fax!!! :-)) But still, your friend might try faxing and certified mail.

They responded to a couple of my emails saying to call them and that I had to follow their rules. After emailing them again FLorida's laws and reiterating that I would only talk to them via email or USPS, they sent me this response:

Of course they had it written in big bold blue letters.

They are a bunch of illegally operating companies that I refer to as a scumglomerate. They have no legal way to collect so they harrass you until they give up and sell you to a collection agency known as ARM that can't validate the debt. Get that certified cease and desist letter out to them. Then file a complaint with the FTC if they don't stop calling. I am sure by now that the FTC has received dozens of them.

Hang on. 500FastCash is not even licensed/legal. Whose laws are the "claiming" you have to follow? They are not even licensed in THEIR state. They are licensed nowhere. Personally (and you know how I feel about anything MTE related) I would tell them to go fly a kite. They are not even lending legally, and they have the nerve to tell you what state laws to abide by? Oh, I don't think so. You would be very generous by paying that what your state allows. You can just pay the principle. You can actually LEGALLY not pay them a dime. This is why I get so hot under the collar regarding anything MTE. People are paying (or offering to pay) the principle amount of the loan. They are an illegal company. They should be glad to get that. Because, in all honesty, they have no legal recourse to collect this debt. They are not licensed/legal at all. Tweety, tell your g/f to tell them to stick that in their hat!!!

Sorry, pyb! There goes the blood pressure! How dare they "claim" and "threaten". They can't do squat if you never pay them a dime. Nothing. Zippo. Zero. So, they need to watch their "attitude" when it comes to people offering to pay the principle amount. They are lucky to get that. Ooohhhhh........ Just burns me up! You know, I guess this is why they're still on my butt after all this time. I can't control myself, tell them exactly what I think, that makes them hate me (oh, so sad), don't agree to anything they "offer", etc. I'm not taking any kind of settlement from an unlicensed/illegal company that is threatening, lying, and harrassing. Okay, I'll calm down now.

tweety, tell your g/f not to take their calls. Good Lord. Talking to them is enough to make a person go to the "funny farm". They're so full of it. Tell her not to talk to these illegal people any longer. If they want to deal with her, they can use email or USPS.

Oh, don't get me started on USFastCash. There's another good for nothing illegal one. If they're calling her at work, is there any way she can get someone else to say she "no longer works there"??? One way to get rid of them. If that's possible, that's the best thing to do. If they think she doesn't work there any more, they're not going to call back. They'll call her home/cell phone, but she can just ignore that.

I know she's just out of a bad marriage and doesnt have a cell phone yet-but she is worried that if she tell them something like that they will call her references.......we've chatted about that stuff before- I told her that when I was dealing with MY own ipdl's they never called my references.......

MTE d/b/a's will not call your references. Take my word for it. The entire world would have been called on me by now if they did.

NOt that I know of but I put the switchboard number down. I work in a hospital with over 500 employees. The operators do not put calls through. They will hang up on anyone quicker than anything you have ever seen. They will not take messages. I was told when I was hired to give out the unit number to anyone that might need to contact me in an emergency otherwise they would not get through. So I gave the PDLs the switchboard number and did not tell them what unit I worked on. I am so Bad aren't I?

tweety, none of my MTE's called my place of employment. They are "better" at email than anything. Which is good. Documentation, documentation, documentation!

I have to loans in default with MTE, Oneclick cash and United (even though I overpaid both of them by significant amounts). I defaulted back in July and haven't heard a word from them except for the initial response to my e-mails telling me that they don't have to follow NY's laws. After that, nothing. I'm feeling lucky but I don't except it to last forever.

jen, don't feel alone. Two of mine were overpaid. One I still owed a small amount towards the principle. However, on all three, they wanted a couple hundred dollars more (Hello!). They can bite me!

Shhh.... don't say that. They'll wait a few months and send through an electronic check on your old account! You're not forgotten. Not by any means. They are still there lurking. Kind of freaky. I might actually be "scared" if they didn't piss me off so much! :?

frog is right. I refuse to speak to these people. First of all, they're insane. Second, they're illegal. I'm not wasting my time arguing with an illegal company over an illegal loan that I have overpaid. Give me your threats and lies in writing so I can send it in to the AG, thank you very much! (And the "Jaws Theme" is still playing!)

Has anyone ever had a fair deal with them - or do they just turn your name over to collection attorneys

Their usual response is to request more money than you actually owe to "settle". Some people do it just to be rid of them. I am not one of those people. Their typical response is to offer a settlement above the borrowed amount (even if you have already paid this amount plus some). If you do not "settle" for that, they claim they will turn you over to collections. Blah, blah, blah. Illegal, illegal, illegal.
