I got a call today, I didn't answer, checked the number and it was an international collection agency, obviously not licensed in Minnesota.
Just curious, do they give up?

It may be yrs later and out of the blue you get this crazy call. Just hang up. Thats all they can do to you. I have heard them even calling a yr later for a loan that was paid off. so dont fall for it. The are scum

Depends on the company; I'm still getting intermittent calls from one PDL about 2 years after the fact, mostly recorded messages. Doesn't bother me, I can hang up as often as they can call. And - as we're getting into tax time, sometimes the PDL's will "rise from the grave" and start contacting you saying that they'll give you the opportunity to pay back all the money you owe(!!!) using your tax refund. ;)

i agree, it depends on the company.. i had all illegal lenders and there was one who seriously never called. i overpaid on the loan and they never called, never bothered me at all. i considered that a PIF but never held my breathe for a refund, which of course i never got. but believe me, the peace of mind was priceless.
than there is geneva roth, who i overpaid by thousands for a loan almost two years ago.. every so many months a call will pop up.. but the harrassment (like the constant, everyday calls) stopped after a couple of months.
