Wage assignment for payday loans
Date: Thu, 09/02/2010 - 00:03
I live in Florida and have 9 payday loans. I am trying to get them paid down I mean I just took them out and already I have a company "National Credit Adjusters" calling me and telling me that they are going to do a wage assignment. When they called I did not know who they were my account was transferred to them by another comapny called Knox Ventures who owns the company that I have one of my PDL'S with called "extracashlive". Are they allowed to do a wage assignment? They told me they would give me 48 hours to handle this. How do i get out of the wage assignment that they said I signed, but I don't have any paper work on this loan. I am going to call extra cash live and have them send me a copy of my contract. I don't even know what is legal in Florida or if the company's that I am dealing with can even do bussiness in FL. I'm not sure how to get out of all of this now that I am in it. I do want to apy them all back but what do I do? I am waiting on a phone call for Oak view law firm for help, but what esle can I do? Please help!:(

Wage assignments are totally voluntary and you can revoke them by sending them a letter revoking their ability to do so. Give a copy to your payroll department.

It's usually part of your contract. But, as SOAP said, it's voluntary and revokable at any time. Send them a letter revoking the wage assignment you may or may not have signed and also give a copy of it to your HR department at work.
