I live in Washington State.... and of course they are illegal in this state.
Everyday they call my work. Everyday I tell them to stop calling. They immediately call my cell phone & leave nasty messages on them. Calling me a thief, saying I stole money from them. I have sent them the "illegal" to operate letter & a C & D letter... They just call now & say I am a sorry, theiving loser hiding behind the FDCPA and its rules that dont apply to them. They said the rules dont apply to them because they are a first party lender, not a third party (which is covered by the FDCPA) Then they said we can call you everday if we like, at your work or anyother place they can find me... they dont even care if I get fired because of them calling. last thing on the message was that I had 1 week to call them & make an arrangement, or else they will call someones name I didnt recognize, or the HR, or hey you are in a state we can legally garnish your wages in, and take you to court. ... then the guy says (all on my message) to have my attorney call them, if I can even get an attorney, which I probably cant because they would see that I am a fraudulent theiving individual, and no attorney would even take my case!!
What am I to do about these _________ u can fill in the blank
I tried sending letters to the BBB and everyone said that the office is out of their jurisdiction & to send it to another office.
Kind of hard to do when there is no actual official address for them
Help!!!

i would use the term humanoids to fill in the blank.actually i would file an FTC complaint against them.also AG complaints.the BBB won't do much in this regard to these humanoids.they are even as the OC required to comply to a request to not call your work.

Wow I really feel for you. I would tell you to ignore them but I know how hard it is to do that at work but you should really try to hang up as soon as you can. Turn off your cell phone or change your phone number. Have you tried having someone at your job tell them to stop calling and that their number is being turned over to the local authorities? You really need to contact your AG's office and ask them to intervene on your behalf. Also save the recorded messages they leave you.

I dont answer my cell phone when they call. They just leave those nasty messages.

I have to answer the phone when they call at work, just because I dont know who it is.
I always tell them I cant talk & not to call at work, but they still do.

I tried to get one of the employees to tell them I am no longer there, but he doesnt want to do it..
OH well, maybe eventually they will leave me alone.

They did the same thing to me.
Called me at work EVERY day!
The best thing to do is just ignore them. I would immediately hang up and if any of their calls ended up in my voicemail, I just ignored it.
When they stopped bothering me, I then was contacted by NCA-the collection agency they sold my loan to.
As soon as I received paperwork from NCA I requested a loan validation and advised them that PDL Yes is illegal and they better remove anything they reported off of my credit report.

Do you happen to know the general time they call? Usually they call around the same time every day. If you do.. then ingore it (like everyone says.. even at work.. unless your a receiptionist/secretary)

Kak, i'd check your credit reports just to be sure. I had several Illegal payday loans report to transunion and I disputed them and they never responded. When i disputed it I responded with "not mine" and transunion deleted them.

Most of my calls at work came first thing in the morning.
However, they then started calling me at all different times of the day.
After PLD Yes turned my loan over to NCA, NCA (Nat'l Credit Adjusters)also became very abusive.
I filed a report with the ACA Int'l on them since they are a member.
NCA tried to dispute everything I accused them of including the fact that they were trying to collect on a loan fron a lender that is operating illegally.
Through the ACA, they withdrew everything, marked my account as paid in full, and withdrew their info from my credit report.
