It is obscenely hot here and a girl cannot take it!

Is anyone else tired of this heat?

Well!

You know I am...Look outside..It's raining finally!

Every mornig when I get to work the space heater in my office is on full blast. I turn it off right away, but it takes all day for it to cool down. Plus, my office is right next to the doors leading out to the factory, and it's 145 in the factory, so of course I get that hot air also. Add the fact that I have to wear closed shoes and long pants (even skirts have to be long..I am 5 foot 1, I can't wear a long skirt!) And I am miserable!!!

Polly, it was just a tease..It stopped as soon as it started.

I'll tell you what I'd like to do with that space heater!! It's a third shift laborer doing this to me..I guess I'd like to know what he's doing in my office in the first place. I've got a half a mind to go in there some night and sit and wait for him.

I know what you mean--We have 4 air conditioners running constantly at my house and it's still stuffy in here. Yuck.

I had some last minute errands I had to do yesterday and just being out there gave me a headache.

And we weren't quite as hot down here in OH, as you were up in MI....But they say on the news here, it's stupposed to start cooling down...

It rained for more than 5 minutes today!! It didn't cool down too much, though..I went and played raquetball a little bit ago, and I feel like I melted. I swear, I don't know what's wrong with me..I am always overheated..Could it be REAAAALLY early menopause?

All I know is that I'm crabby..And I'm taking care of the jerk who keeps turning on my office's space heater. I left a delicately nasty note for him today. I can't be TOO nasty, because I am HR...But he'll get the picture.

oooh! Yeah, it rained at work too..We are on the lake though...

Polly, how disturbing is this..You know the company I work for, and what it produces..Also, I think you know what they use to make it..Well, they dump that stuff into the lake..we killed a bunch of trout last year, got sued. I don't drink the water there..sometimes it's black

Nice last name.

There is a woman that used to work in the school district here. She actually married into the last name of "

****".

Talk amongst yourselves......

And I never said no one WASN'T hot. I just was all ready to use my mad skillz, and I found out this was a weather thread.

I can relate! I'm in Pensacola where it rains one hour and is perfectly sunny the next. It is never below 95, and simple errands that require the use of my car, including returning movies, picking up paycheck, and buying groceries have lef tme so sweaty today that I couldn't stand the thought of NOT taking a cool bath.

LOL I wouldn't marry anyone with the last name
****...lol Or Weenur.

I actually broke up with a guy because his last name was "Buente" (pronounced buntee) Because I felt dorky saying it, and I was afraid that things might get too serious and my last name would end up being Buente. I was kind of cold back then..lol

You wouldn't have had to take his name if you married. The days of wives as property are long gone. Trust me, I almost ruled out my husband because he has the same first name as my uncle and my grandfather. I'm so glad I didn't! Besides, my husband is the only one who I know as "Frank" the other two are grandpa and Uncle Teddy.

Yeah, but I still would have to say it on occasion. I have a real problem with saying things that sound silly. LOL Plus he wasn't all that cool. The only thing he had going for him is a nice stomach and good hair. LOL

I've evolved since then though..My Chris has a last name that is fairly silly--Orcutt. But I don't feel like a goon saying it. :) And he's chubby and is starting to lose his hair...But he's still adorable to me. :)

I understand exactly where you're coming from, Jess..But I'm lucky. My husband has a good solid last name... personal info removed-fins what are ya thinking? erybody knows your first name and where you live!!! cyber smack...still love you though - pollyYou can't argue with that. The only problem is naming kids. We wanted to name our son Carson or Graham..But those sound like presidents, way too pretentious.

I HATE my husband's first name,though..Paul. How wishy washy. I always hated that name.
