Christmas Trees !!!!!!

I have 1 big one and 2 small ones I put in each of my children's rooms. So 3

lol..Of course I have 3!! One in the family room, one in the living room, and one outside!

I am positively WILD at Christmas..Can you believe that?

One sits on the kitchen table, the other in the living room. :)

We decorate 4 trees outside and have a x-mas tree in the house. We put lights on the house and the garage, and I have the inflatable santa, frosty, christmas tree, sleigh with the reindeer. I love decorating for x-mas. Actually we start decorating outside right after halloween and decorate and put the tree up Thanksgiving weekend.

I thought I was odd...We put up the trees on the day after Thanksgiving, it's a family tradition. It's so much work, might as well enjoy it as long as you can.

Fins, she couldn't have a real one in the toilet! That wouldn't be very comfortable to "Go" on.

The funniest place I saw an inflatable santa was in Hawaii....It was 90 degrees outside...lol

you are so right fins, to me the earlier the more time you have to enjoy it. Only problem this year we have a mischeivous puppy, so I am wondering how long it will be before she chews through the cords. So far she has chewed the phone cord, lamp cord, gaming cords.

I have the greatest little tree that's motion sensored and it dances and sings whenever anyone gets near the "commode"...I've heard screaming before, whenever anyone goes in there and the thing starts up!! lol

Last year was the only year I wasn't in the mood for Christmas...But I think most of us here can guess why--Broke as a joke...yuck.

I'm excited for it this year though..I need to start shopping. :)

have you tried toothpaste? When my dog Howie was a pup, we didn't know what do do about her chewing. The vet suggested toothpaste, just a little, on her tongue when she chewed. It worked! I couldn't believe it.

Oooo..I've been shopping. Little things though, it's gonna be a good year!

Last Christmas was bad. I was hiding the payday loan secret from my husband, worrying non-stop. Plus it was my first Christmas without my dad, and he loved christmas so much.

But now things are great! I don't have to worry, and I'm coming to terms with my Dad being gone.

fins, never heard of using toothpaste. Our vet told use to use pepperspray. Which is a combination of 2 tblsp pepper and rest water and spray where she chews. IT MADE HER WORSE!!! I will try the toothpaste.

oh wow..Isn't it awful? I hope the toothpaste works for you..We were at our wits' end.

Me too, Fins--About the PDL thing....I told everyone my job screwed up my paychecks and I didn't get it on time...I borrowed money from my boyfriend's dad because I started getting declined for PDLs...That's when I knew it was out of control and did something about it. :)

Cupcake is a full blooded black lab. She chewed a hole in the wall down to the sheetrock.

oh gosh Tammy...That sucks. Howie is an American Bulldog..She chewed one of the legs off of a dining room chair. That was a mess!

I want an english bulldog. We had one when I was little and have loved them ever since. But I don't think our house can survive 3 dogs. So I will keep wanting and enjoying the ones we have.

I like English Bulldogs, too..But Americans are more athletic, and that suited us. (plus I got a deal on her!!) She looks just like an English, but she has the size of a mastiff.

Last year, I had just started taking pdl's right before christmas when I wasn't working so much! That snowballed right through the new year!
Now it's just a passing nightmare that I won't relive again!

yep erzeke, she chewed a hole in the wall. I am waiting to see if she chews her way out of her cage she is in at night now.

Tammy---I just read a book recently called "Marley and Me" It was about a lab with behavioral problems. It's a great book, I can't read it without getting emotional though. :)

Never read that Jess, but crating is the ideal treatment for behavioral problems...I did that with Ginger and it worked great

The dog in the book broke out of a heavy duty cage with a lock...lol He had a fear of storms big time.

Books about animals always get to me..I remember in 4th garde I red "where the red fern grows". My second grader is in an advanced reading group at school, and they're reading it now..That book was amazing..The boy in the book became the boy I compared all boys to for years after that, and when the dogs died..Oh man. I'm so glad I get to relive this story again!

I'm so relieved I don't have a dog after reading all this. My little Missy is enough of a handful already! She's getting so big and cute and doing all kinds of cute silly things!

Did anyone actually have their dog knock the tree down? When I was younger, my mom's dog (a black lab), was sleeping half under the Christmas tree. The doorbell rang. She jumped up and ran to the door. Her tail, though, got caught on one of the tree branches, and she dragged it with her! (I have two, by the way - one big tree in the living room and a ceramic tree in the dining room.

Brownie, our lab/boxer mix kept getting tangled up in the tree when he was a puppy. Needless to say, our tree didn't have very many lights that year.

Oh crap! I just remembered that when we put up our fiberoptic tree, Missy is sure to wreck it!

I don't have a dog that knocks down my Christmas tree, but my son does, every year at least a few times, he shouts "SQUIRREL!" And down it comes. He's mimicking the scene from Lampoons Christmas Vacation. I expect it every year since he saw that movie.

My cats have a reckless tendancy to knock down the ornaments that hang on the bottom branches. And forget about tinsel!

On Sunday morning, my cat was knocking down a row of empty water jugs that I was saving for recycling like bowling pins! Then she took one and was pushing it around the living room with her nose!

awwww....Cats are so dang adorable. They do cuter things than dogs.

It was so cute! I said to her "Missy, it really doesn't take much to entertain you does it?"

they probably think it doesn't take much to entertain US!

That makes sense, she was playing water-jug bowling and pushing one around with her nose to get my attention. It worked! All her little antics work!

My cat used to put his front half inside the empty Coke cartons and use the "handle" opening as a window and run around the kitchen. He couldn't resist...You'd see him "stalk" the carton, and then run into it and crash into things. Now he's too big, but it used to be so funny. He also has an obsession with foil balls..He likes to knock them under the stove.

Well SOMEONE has to keep the clothes warm, Liz...And She's just making sure that there is plenty of hair on the clothes since that stupid washing machine always washes it off...lol

Ok...Last Summer we moved our couch over to another wall. Well, now the weather is going to be getting cold again, so we moved it back where it used to be so it wouldn't cover the heater vent. So now, Bo is all happy because he likes to lay on the back of the couch by the window.

The storm window is still up, so there's a gap between the back of the couch and the main window. The blinds cover that......Ok....This morning, Bo decided to lay on the couch and tried to lean on the window....But since there is no storm window down, he fell down between the window and the couch...His little paws were sticking up from behind the couch and was the only thing holding him from falling to the floor...Poor guy was stuck..lol It was the funniest thing ever. :) I had to go rescue him.
