Basically, I had some health and financial setbacks in this past year and ran up about twenty thousand in debt. I'm in a new job now where I work on commission plus do some extra things here and there. I'm doing okaym but it's six cards and I just don't have the ability to make the payments on each of them every month. I want to consolidate to one monthly payment. I don't care what the interest rate is. I will be selling my home soon and will then have money to pay it all off at once. So, a high rate doesn't matter now, as long as it's just one payment per month.

Adam---it might not seem like it right now, but you are kind of in a better place financially than some people who end up here are. I mean you will have the money from the sale of your home coming soon and then you can pay them all off. But, until then---well, I can totally understand you needing to get a handle on your debt. Have bills, statements, etc. ready when the debt counselor calls---good luck!
