Looking for help...

I am a small business owner with one employee. She "books" all of the physical work/labor I perform. I've been in business since 1999. My business was doing "fine" (I'm not going to get rich, but I like what I do).
In February of 2006, I had to have emergency surgery. I tried going back to work too soon, which made my situation worse. My "regular clients" looked elsewhere to have their needs met. It's been hard trying to get these clients back.
I had NO INCOME from May through August, what so ever. I started living on my credit cards. I think I've got ONE MORE MONTH that I can continue to do this. In December I received no income either.
My "busy season" is January through April/May. I'm booked solid for the first three weeks in January, however, MOST clients pay between net thirty and net sixty. That means I may not see those funds until March or April! I have no idea what I'm going to do. I REALLY DON'T want to declare bankruptcy. I've called my credit card companies and they just don't want to work with me at all. How do I know if debt consolidation is right for me, and where to obtain an "honest" lending institution? I've been reading horror stories!
I'd appreciate any helpful ideas. Thanks in advance.
