Chexsystems - - - - There is hope!

To the person who discussed the 5-year waiting period ... I had the same experience with U.S. Bank. I paid the account off and it was in good standing, but they told me they could not remove me from ChexSystems. I was told by another bank employee that they can but that it is the bank's policy not to remove you because that way they ensure that you only come back to them for a Second Chance checking account once the fees are paid off.

Do you have a listing for Maryland Maybe?

dkehinde - I just PM'd you the list for Georgia! If you look to the top right of the page, you should see a link that says "You have 1 new message" If you click on that it will take you to your inbox.

No problem . . . . . It makes it much harder to get control of your finances when you can't get a freaking bank account for 5 years!

Goudah has posted the list of all banks that will open a new account even if they are using chexsystem. The condition is that the item should appear as paid. Here is the link.

Hi there I'm in that situation and my bank account is going to be closed soon I have my old account that is $2,600 overdrawn and it's going to be closed and reported to check systems soon. I have my current accound with Wamu and I'm scared that it might be closed when I get reported to checksystems so I would like to be prepared for it. If you could send me the information on banks in California I would appriciate it.

You have 2 options, one where you recieve a call from a credit counselor, and one where you don't. Decide which one you want and fill out the info. There isn't any obligation once you've registered. I am registered, but have not been on here in a while so I can't remember my password. I requested a new password but have not received it yet. I am in TX and closed my account out with my old bank and tried to open a new one there, and there is something on my telecheck file that i have already paid, but it has not come off yet, (I am working on that right now), but I really need a checking account. They did let me open a savings account, but I am tired of making sure I have enough cash with me when I go anywhere. My money always seems to disappear faster that way. Any help will be GREATL appreciated.

First thing I would do is click on the "free consultation" button that you see on your right of this post. They can point you in the right direction. What I would do is also go to wamu dot com, they may be able to open a checking account for you , but try the free consultation first.

If you did have an item on telecheck, it should be removed when you pay. I would dispute the item with them as paid, and you will get it cleared and then you can open an account at any bank.

Did you mean that you have something on your teletrack report? If something is showing up on your teletrack report you can request a free copy of it. What Goudah said is right when you pay telecheck your name is automatically deleted off of their database.

I thank god everyday that I am not able to open up a checking account. I feel such freedom with this. I found something much better and does the same thing with no worries. I am blessed.
