Okay I have 9 friggin Payday Loans out right now. Yes I am a total retard. I am trying to figure out ways that I can pay on all of them a little at a time. But everytime I call these companies (if they even have a number listed) they tell me I am at collections and the only way out is for me to pay my balance in full. I get so upset and I don't know what to do. Then I get threatening phone calls at work saying they are sending a court thingy in the mail because I have no intent to pay my loans. I also got told that I can go to court because I closed my bank account........well the bank told me to cause I was getting so much in overcharges. Well anyways, a credit place from this website.......Consumer credit counseling of America calls me. Well this gurl totally makes me feel better saying she can turn my debt into one payment. I will be recieving my papers in the mail and then I can start. Well it has been two weeks and no papers for me. I try to call her back and she is never there I always get her voicemail. So I tried another debt care company and they say they can't help me with PDLS. HELP ME!!!!!!! PLEASE BEFORE I LOSE IT!

Have you checked out the website paydayloaninfo.org to make sure all of those PDL's were charging you the correct interest. There is a handfull of consolidation companies that will not work with PDL's. I also talked to consumer credit counseling of America and decided not to go with them. I ended up finding my company from the nfcc.org website and they were a local non for profit agency in my home town.

peacebear03 - don't feel badly. Many of us have been in your situation, and have found our way out with the help of the friendly folks at this site. You're not a retard - please don't feel that way.

Look at it as a learning experience. You took out the loans, need to get them taken care of, and once you do, you can look back at it and say "I'll never do THAT again!" - and you can advise friends and family that are considering these loans of what your experience was...and possibly prevent them from going through the same thing.

I echo Suebee---you are not a retard---if so everybody on here has been one or is one or something! The debt consolidation company I work with does take PDLs. They are called T&C or Town and Country Acceptance and are located in Birmingham, Alabama. I don't have the number handy, but if you are interested I can PM it to you tomorrow.

I shouldn't say I am a retard I just feel like I am never going to get out of this. The court threats are really bothering me too. I just don't know what to do.

You will get out of this sooner than you think. It just seems over whelming at this moment. Most of us have been right where you are at now. And as for these unlicensed internet payday loans, don't let their threats alarm you, being unlicensed there isn't much they can do but throw empty threats at you to scare you.

I agree...Once it starts getting better, it gets better fast. Last year I was right where you are..I had 6 pdls. Last January I closed my bank account and expected the worst, and by the end of March I was totally free and clear.

Don't lose sleep over it, and don't beat yourself up. You've come to the right place, we can help!

Westbury is the ipdl company, just another DBA. I'm trying to remember which one this is. Use the template letter on Polly's blog, insert your info. and fire an e-mail back at her, and include in your letter that you are filing a complaint with your Attorney General as well as the Attorney General in the state in which she is located and including a copy of the correspondance with the complaints.

The AG's offices will have a form for you to complete. In the resolution space you want to say the resolution to this matter would be to have the account marked paid in full and if you have overpaid the principal balance and legal interest for your state demand the amount you wish to have refunded to you. Mention in the complaint that they are unlicensed and how they broke your state's pdl laws.
