I would send them a cease and desist letter to get them to stop calling you. They are a third party collector, right? If so they must follow the laws. You can also ask them to validate the debt and they have to send you proof that you owe the money.

You also have the legal rights to make them validate the account they are collecting for. See the sample letter here

Combine both the requests to one and send it through certified mail and return receipt requested.
Cease and desist
Sorry let me ask again. Is this a form to fill out? LAst time I spoke with them about the previous debt they said I owed they refused to send a letter. I am not sure what to write to them. I am sorry to sound like an idiot.

Use the first link to force them to communicate exclusively through the mail-no verbal communications permitted. This will help considerably; in a court of law, a conversation is one person's word against an other's. A letter from a debt collector containing illegal statements is about as bulletproof as you can get.
Use the second link to obtain your debt validation.
Insert the appropriate information. I have seen a post on this board suggesting that some collection agencies are all too familiar with that letter, you may wish to change the content into your own words. Don't worry about what they say, they are using abusive, deceptive debt collection practices, just mail it return receipt (both letters, but separately).

allied interstate violate numerous collection laws. If legal in your state, turn on the recorder before you call them. Chances are, if you settled over the phone, they are going to refuse to honor the agreement and are calling for more money. Their thinking is "once the well produces, keep going back for more".

To help back your position, did they provide you with a letter stating that you had settled in full?
