Hi! Does anyone have any information or experience with Freedom debt relief or Credit Answers? We are trying to decide if we should pursue debt settlement for approx. $45000 in cc debt or if we should use debt consolidation. We are new clients of Mezey & Assocs. but are very concerned after reading the comments posted on the board about their company. IF anyone has any advice please let us know. We are so concerned about getting scammed.
Also, does anyone have any positive experience with debt settlement? Thanks in advance!

If you can do it, I'd go through the consolidation. Your credit isn't going to take the same hit as it would from attempting to settle...

When go with a settlement company, usually, your first few payments go directly to the company. After they've collected their fee, they begin filling your account. Once it's reached a suitable amount, they start making offers to your creditors. In the interim, your bills have become delinquent, and your credit tanks. I think this is advisable if only it is a way of not filing for bankruptcy.

If you've already signed the contract, I'd at least advise you to go over it again.

That's my .02

debt settlement50 program works better if you are in the hands of a reputed company. I read many people getting scammed by their debt settlement companies because of not doing thorough research on them before signing the contract. However, I have heard good things about Freedom debt relief. I suggest you to check the customer feedbacks with your state AG and the BBB and know about their business.
