I know that if I can just get a loan and have one payment I could get ahead. I am only seeing that you can get help is only if you are already late and behind on your payments. I dont want to get to that
point because then my credit rating will go down
and I would like to buy a house in the next 5 years.
What or where can I go?
Thanks

Problem with seeking a loan to pay off debt is that many non-predatory lenders are not willing to give a large loan when a person already has a good deal of debt and no real assets. You might want to consider consolidation. The company you signup with negotiates with your creditors to help you get a lower interest rate. It can help make your debts easier/faster to pay off. If you do go through any company, research them first--make sure you don't get ripped off. When you signed up with this website, if you gave your phone number, a credit counselor should call you soon, and they'll help you explore your options, and you aren't obligated to use their services.

The voice of experience would like to interject here---sometimes a loan will just makes things worse. Definitely take advantage of the free debt counseling phone call. When you do any research involving debt and finances, be sure to include this board in your search. You will find lots of information, much of it based on personal experiences of the members. Good luck!
