I signed up for the free debt counseling on this site and they reccommended Superior debt relief. But after reading through lots of others posts, I see there are complaints about them too. Is there such a thing as an honest company? I have not signed up with anyone yet, but need help to find an honest one that will do what they say and help me get out of debt. So far I have checked out Superior Debt Relief, DMB, Curadebt, debt settlement usa and Allegro Law LLC. I have no idea who to do with. I need help and soon.

I have found I believe to be a reputable company out of Florida. They have a great rating with the bbb and have searched here and other places and have found nothing bad against them. I am pleased so far with my dealings with them.

Cornerstone Financial Counselors

Good Luck.

Like mentioned above-do your research before signing with anyone. I am sure there are honest companies out there. You just gotta do your homework. But even then I am reading, one company may be a blessing for some and a nightmare for another. Have you thought about doing it yourself?

I just signed up with Hess Kennedy. I have about 18K in cc debt. I am less than 30 days late on each but have been "robbing Peter to pay Paul" for about a year and couldnt keep up the pace. The contract states I pay $450 for 2 months and then $260 for 36 months. It all sounded great and I have the take the monthly payment out of my checking account automatically. So far so good but it's only been a month. THEN, I seached the company online and there is a lot of bad stuff on the we about them. The BBB gave them and "F". Yikes! I am scared now. Any advise?

I have been with Superior since January. I have a huge amount of debt, so my monthly payment is high, to take care of it within three years (at the estimated 40% they figured.) But they have already settled two accounts, and are always available to answer questions or give advice. I am very happy with them, as I probably contact them once a week to keep current, ask questions, or to forward things I have gotten from CAs. I did investigate them thoroughly, through the BBB and other forums, and a majority of the complaints against them were resolved. (Also, keep in mind, there may have been some complaints, but it is a miniscule percentage of their total clients). You also have to keep in mind the emotional state of people in debt programs - much frustration and impatience accounts for some of the complaints. As hard as it is, we have to be patient and let the settlement system work.

I have caller ID, so I ignore them. Once I started the settlement program, I sent the nine cards in the program my change of address and phone number to that of the settlement company. Sometimes that works, and a few cards did just start contacting Superior instead of me. Unfortunately, the accounts DO move into collections after a certain amount of time, and once you are contacted by collection agencies, and give them the info on the settlement company, the calls really fall off. Some will still occasionally call, to try to bully you into paying, with misleading and false information, so I just say, "Sorry, you have to talk to my settlement company, they have my power of attorney to negotiate my settlements, so I am not going to speak to you." The less you talk to the CAs, the better. Superior has been real good about letting me know what to ignore, and what kind of mailings I should fax them right away. You just have to stick it out. There's no easy answer with settlement, it's aggravating sometimes. But I know after another 2-1/2 years, I will be debt free. That lets me sleep at night, again. And I know every penny I pay is going to settle the debt and not just to interest.

If you find yourself having fallen behind on so much debt that you are closing in on bankruptcy then debt settlement could be the best option for you to go about getting for yourself. Debt settlement plan involves the process of settling all of your outstanding debt by getting in touch with your outstanding creditors and essentially stating to them that you have to negotiate for a lower amount of money that you can pay them in a lump sum. They will naturally wish to get whatever they can before they find themselves unable to get anything at all. When the settlement is made though, and you pay it in full your credit will stabilize and may actually increase because the debt ratio of your credit profile will have lowered by quite a bit.

ezconsolidation.com as a debt consolidation Company will relieve and eventually reduce your debt by managing your assets effectively and negotiating with your creditor regarding interest rates and monthly payments. It would provide you with such a debt management Solution that will help you manage your unsecured debt by taking one monthly payment from you and distributing the money among your creditor and that too without taking on any more debt. Debt Management is not a loan so you are no obligated by any contract or other binding paperwork associated with a Debt Management Plan.
