I have student loans that have been delinquent and have come to the point where if i do not take a settlement offer or pay in full, it will go to court. I also have a similar situation with a credit card. I made two large payments, switched jobs, and was unable to continue payments, so they are going to probably sue me too. i need help, i need to pay off these delinquent accounts and clear my credit. but due to my delinquent accounts, i was told i would not get a loan. So how in the world am i supposed to come up with this money? If i couldnt pay the minimum payment, then how am i supposed to come up with the full amount. please help me!

I am not sure about your student loan. I know we have a section on here for questions about student loans. So I am not sure if a debt counselor will be able to help you. But they will be able to help you with your credit card. And yes they can help you even if it is in default. But I would act quick before they do take you to court.

Post your questions about student loans in the other forum. Soaplady is very experienced in dealing with these types of situations. She will help making your next move.

You don't have to take a new loan to pay off the debts. Enroll in a consolidation program and get all the accounts under one repayment plan. You will get lower interest rates in your pay off and the counselor will review your present financial situation. Once you are able to make partial payments to the creditors, they won't take you to the court.
