i not had my emblem credit cards very long but i like this credit card pretty good the credit card i have been using doesn't increase there credit limits plus on that card i have to pay a yearly fee 84 dollars a year that's 7.00 a month on my first premier card this emblem card from the fresh start program doesn't have no yearly fee and as i signed up on it i sent the i call it starters payment in they wanted 51.00 before they would send me the card out to me so i sent them 60.00 instead of 51.00 i figured that way i would increase my chances of getting my debt payed off a little faster plus at the same time i would get the credit card a little faster they was very fair about it they offered me i think something like 2 months to pay the 51.00 in order to send my credit card to me it was like 20.00 for two months and now my payments are just 20.00 a month they transferred my old debt onto my credit card they credited some of my debt which left me owing 293.00 on my credit card whats great about is that while i am paying off the 293.00 i owe it gave me a great credit card so i now all i have to do is be careful of much i spend on my card

So, you got a Emblem Card? How long did it take you to receive your card in the mail after you had made your final payment to Jefferson Capital Systems, LLC?

I just sent it my last payment. They gave me one year at 21 a month but I paid off the $241 within about 4 months. So, I called to make sure that it was ligit and they would notify the Montery County Bank to send me a card. The rep at Jefferson told me after my final payment clear they would transfer the the other $240 to the Emblem card with no yearly fee and 0% interest.

Since I made my final payment with Jefferson, I just want to know how long did it take you to receive your card in the mail after you made your payment?

Contrel please keep posted when you receive your Emblem Card. I've been paying them $21 for 3, 4 months now. Unfortunately I did the research AFTER I sent them the first payment and I didn't try to get out of it (afraid I might mess the credit up even more). They don't waste any time reporting to the bureau tho.

I received my Emblem credit card today. I had made my last payment mailed it in on April 29, the check cleared May 5th and I received my card today May 12th. That was quick!

The Jefferson Capital Fresh Start Solution program really works, I am a witness. It is not a scam for all of the negative post out there.

Emblem CC? Is this a 'Unsecured' CC? CONTROL....please tell me a bit more about this card. Visa or Mastercard? How does it help your credit? Thanks.

The Emblem Credit Cards was made possible through Jefferson Capital Solutions, LLC, which is a debt collection agency.
Instead of the ordinary debt collection agency collecting money, they have made an agreement with Montery County Bank to issue a Credit Card to you upon the completion of their program.

The way it works is, they purchase bad debt and collect on it but, they make you an offer, you pay a fraction of your debt on a monthly payment plan to them, you must be on time and not one payment can be missed. Then, after you have completed your part, they transfer a portion to the credit card that Monterey County Bank is issuing and then the right off the remainder of the debt. So, my total debt was $700, I paid $241, they issued an unsecured Mastercard for $262 and transferred $220 onto my card, giving me a small avaliable credit, then the remainding $240 was written off and the debt is mark Paid on my credit report. Now with a new start I can start rebuilding my credit. There is no annual fees or fees for having the card, the percentage rate is 0% for the balance that was transferred and 18.99 % for all new debt.

But that is how the program work so. They issue a unsecured credit card.

Can you actually call these people up and ask to be on the program, to re-build your credit? Or..do you have to be 'assosiated' some way with them, etc.?

The emblem card is issued through Montery County Bank. The bank is only notified when you have met you obligations with a debt collection agency called Jefferson Capital Systems. Jefferson notifies the bank to issue the card and they will transfer the remainder balance owed on the debt at discounted rate to your new card.

Jefferson Capital Systems must purchsase you debt from a creditor or another collection agency as with any debt. In this instance they have a great program to get you to pay your debt and build your credit at the same time.

I have only been with the program for two months now. When I first received the notice from Jefferson capitol I was very nervous about responding. I'm trying to restart my credit so I gave it a chance. I sent them the 288.00 dollars at one shot and within 3-4 weeks I received my Emblem card. Now I have a new credit card with an available credit of 748.00 so far so good. I just want to know is it possible for me to contact Jefferson capitol so they can pick up other debts that I have to start them over also.

Finally received the Emblem credit card last Thursday after paying off Jefferson about 2 weeks ago. Granted the interest is about 19% but at least I can get that debt payed off.

My husband had an old debt from a Fingerhut account. He was contacted about paying it off via the plan from Jefferson Capital. He was on the phone for a long time with them getting everything explained to him. I was very, very skeptical.

We paid the debt off in the time allotted and received the card. We have received many increases due to paying our bill on time every month. Our limit is now up to $816.

We've never had any problems with the card. The only thing I've not liked is the few days it takes for a payment you make towards the balance to post to the account once paid but it's normal with any transaction. I'm just impatient..lol.

I am very happy they helped us out with paying the debt off. I think it's a neat idea because the credit card helps to build credit that was lost from the delinquent account we had. I've paid debts off through MCM and never been offered anything like this.

Definitely not a scam.

Just some information:

First the Emblem card is real and can be used for anything but you should be
real careful where you use it at for the first 90 days (No pawn shops, thrift stores, bars. retread shops, etc.). The fraud department blocked
my card due to the way my cell phone company charges the card (Their billing system authorizes $1.00, then about 10 minutes later processes the actual monthly charge, resulting in two quick authorizations.

Also, if your account is in good standing and you have the credit available, if you plan to make a major purchase (Laptop Computer, for example), it wouldn't hurt to contact their fraud department in advance and let them know about your plan or your card may be blocked automatically when you try to purchase the computer.

Now for some background information:

Jefferson Capital is owned by the parent company Compucredit, Compucredit also
has/had subprime cards Imagine, Aspire, Tribute but those all had low credit limits and fees similar to First Premier.

When you get your Emblem card, it will be serviced and handled by Compucredit's Credit Card department. Also, if you check the payment address on all the cards above, they will all have the same address.

The difference about the Emblem card is that there are NO fees except the possible late and over limit fees (which compared to the cards above, are low).

My Emblem card had a $100 credit limit, it is now over $1,000.

I usually pay about $40 over my min payment and I pay on the date that the statement drops. You can view your statement online at myemblemcard.com .

The only thing that I do not know is what happens when the Emblem card expires, if the account is in good standing, do they give you a new one, convert you to a different card, or close the account due to completion of program?

Also, it is possible to have more than one Emblem card (I have another one with an $84.00 limit) but be careful if you have more than one Emblem card.

Also remember that on any credit card, if you go over your limit, or pay late, according to the contract, you are in default and they can demand the whole balance in full (also, if you have more than one Emblem card, if you default on one, you automatically default on the other, even if it is in good standing.

So, if your very careful, treat the Emblem card with respect and care, pay more than your min payment and on time, you will end up with a nice card with a decent credit limit at the end.

Lee

I had to call them and explain that the $1.00 charge will never settle and they were fine with that and reactivated my card.

My status with Emblem credit card was excellent, Never missed a payment. in fact My balance was always paid 2 weeks prior to payment. One day when my car tire had blown on the highway I called a tow truck, (my available credit at this time was 359.59) I gave my credit card to dispatch for approval, I was informed my Emblem card was declined. Not angry or upset I called customer service, customer service asked the obvious to ensure I was the card holder. Emblem customer service stated a hold had been placed on my card because I had several charges, my limit is $400.00 I used this card for lunch as I told the customer service person. She said I am sorry I cant approve your transaction, I am stranded with a blown tire this woman tells me she will not approve the card!!!!!! I have never been late or surpassed my limit in any way, she then told me I used my card too much What!!!!!!!! have you lost your mind, this is the purpose of the card, I then told her to cancel my card now and I will send Final payment in the morning, as far as my getting home my insurance company provided me with service.

I did as well. I have had no problem with the Emblem program so far. I had actually been looking to settle this account when the offer came, so in order to save $600 I accepted. I did not do much research, I admit, but they are reporting the correct amount to my credit reports.

This is a legit program and not a scam! I received my card back in May and it is October and received my first increase on my credit card. I got my credit card within two weeks after my final payment with Jefferson. The card has 0% interest and I am sure that will change pretty soon but even the new balance, I haven't been charge any interst. I can't say anything negative about Jefferson Capital nor Montery County Bank, the Emblem card is totaly NOT a scam!

I started this program way back at the beginning of 2009. I made most of my payments in the first four months and only had one payment left to make, when I came across an article stating the offer through Jefferson capital was a scam. I was very disappointed and upset, but I made the final payment anyways. I figured at ;east it would be removed from my credit report. About six weeks after I made that payment, I received my card in the mail. The interest rate is not that great and the credit limit is very low but there are not any annual fees or charges involved with this card. That was the main reason I signed up. I had been looking for a card to help rebuild my credit. I paid off a legit debt that I owed and got a card without any additional fees that other credit companies usually pund you with when you have bad credit. In May I will have had it a year and I am very satisfied with the treatment I have received both from Jefferson capital and Emblem card. Also, once my payment was late being posted to my account and they did not charge a late fee, that was very nice.

Wow you need to spell check as well as think before you sign up for another credit card that you could not pay off to begin with. Yes this is a scam, the best thing to do is pay the balance from premier with a money order ( I never give my banking information to anyone) secondly if you cannot pay the full amount bay in payments but by no means get another card from these people, it is a rip off. Either pay it or dont pay it but DO NOT GET A CAR WITH THESE PEOPLE.

I received my Emblem card back in July of 2008, after paying on A Jefferson Capital debt. The interest rate is high, but there is no annual fee, so it's great to have for emergencies. If you make your payments on time, and don't go over the credit limit, you receive a credit increase every 4 months or so

i have had 2 emblem cards for about a year and a half. haven't had any problems with them at all. by making timely payments and watching my balances my credit score has gone up about 100 points in the past year. last year i was getting some anonymous text messages though about it being a scam.

I got my card and it has a balance of an old debt on it. My minimum payment is $36. It has already reported good standings to the credit comanies. This is not a scam. I'm sure you can probably get rid of the debt some other way but you wouldn't be building your credit. Are there other companies that do this?

Be extremely careful using Jefferson Capital, they key your payments as derrogatory eventhough every payment was made on time. Your credit score will take a dive because of this and Jefferson capital will refuse to change they way they report it. I had to dispute it through the credit breuru just to get my 57pts on my credit score back. Fresh Start my @ss.

My check cleard on june 13th and I still have not received my card. Whoever this anonymous person is saying he got it quickly must work for Jefferson Capital because that is a load of crap. I called Emblem this past week and they had no record of me. Jefferson Capital told me it can take up to three weeks to transfer the information over to Emblem. Has anybody else had this problem? If my payment was going toward that debt that is fine. However, this operation seems pretty shady and I am begining to think that these people are scam artists.

Emblem is a great card and yes, it is legit. I've had my card almost 2 years with steady cli every 3 months as long as u manage your credit responsibly. Since I've had my Emblem card, my FICO scores shot waaaay up!! I now have good credit (740ish), but I'm still not parting with Emblem. I really like the fact that they havent changed my APR like all the other cc's seem to be doing lately, EVEN to people with excellent credit history.

I got the Emblem card. I have been paying on my card balance (2-3 times the minimum payment) for over a year. They don't give any credit increases. So, the card is helpful for small amounts, but it won't grow your credit.

This program is real and I love it. I've cleared my debt using this program and I still use the card as of today... Great customer service and they've increase my limit several times. I highly recommend Emblem. A great way to pay off debt and improve credit all at the same time

I do not understand this logic. How can using a credit card help pay off debt? You create debt by using credit not pay off debt.

Anyway, I don't know if the card is legit but my guess is the terms are probably not that great. I think it is one of those cards that requires upfront fees of a few hundred dollars to open and then you get a $300 limit or so at a high interest rate.

If you want to improve your credit score then clean up the bad debt and watch the slow pays and late pays. If you feel you need a credit card then apply for one with no application fee, no annual fee and try to keep the interest rate low. I do not have or use credit cards anymore. A debit card works as good and you will not end up in debt.

This is not a scam. I paid my debt thru this and received my mastercard in 2007. There is no annual fee. They started me with $250 credit. I am up to $759 right now. It would be more I'm sure, but I got in a bind and couldn't pay total balance for a couple of months, just part, so that messed me up. It you want it to continue to increase, you have to pay total balance each month. Tthey way I look at it, if I'm gonna spend , say, $100 each week out of my bank account week for work expences, then go ahead and pay that $100 towards your credit card. you're gonna spend it regardless. This way, you're paying on your credit card each week. The only problem I've had with this card is that they monitor activity too much, which is acually a good thing. Sometimes I stop at a store and the card is rejected and I know that I have money left on it. I call them and they say they saw activity that they didn't think was mine. I tell them if it is or not and they take the block off my card. It's a little agrevating, but they're watching out for me. This is not a scam. It has helped me out tremendously and I thank them for giving me this second chance.

I have had my Emblem Card since May of 2009. I have received three credit increases. My limit started out being 262. Then in October of 2009; my limit was raised $100 to $362. In January 2010 My credit limit was raised another $200 to $562. In April of 2010 My credit limit was raised $300 taking it to $862. I started out with a 0% interest rate after my balance was paid off from my old debt which was only $200, My interest rate is VERY LOW l like 2%. My credit is not good because I have other stuff affecting it but in the midst I have still received credit increases and the interest rate is very low. I love the card and glad that I went through with the program back in 09. Worked great for me!

It is a real program I used it. I had a Visa rewards 660 card that I had went over the limit on in my younger less responsible years and forgot about it. About 4 months ago I received notification from Jefferson Capital the owner of the debt. They introduced this program. I did some research and figured that it is really not a bad way to get rid of a chunk of debt and get this item cleared off my credit report. I was asked to make 9 payments of $22 a month to Jefferson Cap, they forgave about $200 and transferred $130 to my Emblem card which has a $400 limit. The card came about 10 days after I made the final payment to Jefferson. I immediately paid off the balance on the Emblem card and carry a zero balance on it. It opens a good cushion of credit it u keep your cards paid down below 25% of the available balance. This is a big factor on making your PLUS Score increase on your credit report. Keep a Low Balance to Available Credit ratio. Also, I highly recommend spending the $7.95 a month to become a member of Experian, Equifax, or Trans Union, so that you can get a copy of your report for free as often as you like. In just 3 months of joining Experian.com i have raised my Credit Score from a 576 to a 644. Thats 68 points in just 3 months! I found old debts and paid them, and found errors and disputed them and won and they were removed. It is really worth the $7.95 a month to be able to look at your report and keep control over it! I highly recommend Experian, as their site is more easily navigible than Trans Union and Equifax, AND there are many options so you can get alerts as info is posted on your report. I even get text updates on my cell when my score goes up, or payments are posted!
