hello nelly, my name is joe and i feel financially raped by gc collections. i called the court to set up a court date because i had a ticket which had a hold on my license, the automated machine gave me a number to contact gc collections and also said that the ticket is basically out of the courts hands. i called the number and some agent named mr. v.c. told me that i owe $1,716 and that it has to be paid in full in order to take the hold off my license. i advised him that im unemployed and im recieving e.d.d. and that i really dont have that type of money. he said "well if you want your license you'll have to pay the amount in full." i asked if i can go to the court to set up another court date and he said no, you must pay in full. so he gave me steps to pay thru money gram which i did. after that i called him and he said i have to go to the court office to buy a ten dollar abstract to release the hold. when i got to the window the woman asked me why did you pay for this ticket in full? and i explained to her THE SITUATION- and she simply says- well all you had to do was come here and set up another court date and pay ten bucks and you didnt have to pay that $1,716. i feel so awful i really need that money what can i do nelly? FYI that ticket was no proof of insurance and a busted headlight, now when i got pulled over i had insurance i just didnt know where my girlfriend put it. the headlight is fixed, i got proof. the ticket was originally $25.00. im so...... stressed out!

Hi!
Welcome to the forums!
A lot of consumers have been harassed by gc collection agency. GC collection agency has taken advantage of your situation and I don't think they will return your money. You should have been more careful. You can take a look at the following page to know about how to deal with GC collection agency:

I've read about GC services and the way they've been accused of harassing customers. I have also come to know that they call even about those accounts that have not been forwarded to collections nor are overdue. I'd often wonder why they'd do such things! What benefit are they actually getting out of such accounts?

I am a former collector. Everyone who gets a call thinks they are being harassed. Owing a debt is emotional and making demands for payment is full maybe stressful but if the collector is operating within the law, is is not harassment.Demanding a payment is full is not harrassment.

GC services is a government vendor and also handles court accounts. The court assigned a debt..clearly the license was being held which indicates court involvement. They collected what was assigned....they are not going to instruct the poster on other methods to get out of paying the debt. Or the possiblity is that the court clerk was wrong, From what I read, GC services did their job. THe poster did not pay fines and they were increase substantially because THEY did not go to court when summoned or take care of the proof of insurance or fix it ticket in a timely manner.
