I've never been big on saving my money. As quick as it came in it wen't right on out again. For some reason I have never been responsible with money.

I left a very unhappy marriage not too long ago & swore I was gonna do this, swore I was not gonna spend money like I had it. I established credit for myself which everyone told me to & as quick as I established it I ruined it. Right now I am $10,000 in debt and I cant breathe.

What should I do? How do I get out of debt? Who will give me a loan?

Sincerely,
Moneybags :(

Hi Mary

Find some of the options that can suit well in your situation.

http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/debt-solution.html

$10,000 is a pretty good amount to be put in the consolidation plan. You will pay it at a lower interest rate and with most fees waived off. But depending upon your situation, if you are unable to afford the plan, debt settlement can be your next best move unless you want to take the extreme step and file bankruptcy. Are you getting calls from creditors/collection agencies? If yes, let them know that you are talking to a dmp company and they will be calling soon to discuss about the debts. Once you are enrolled in the plan, all collection calls will stop and your counselor will be dealing with the companies.

Hi Mary:

I have been in your situation before. I was too in $10,000 worth of debt and had to end up filing for bankruptcy in 2000, which was the worst possible thing that I could do considering it is on your credit report for ten years.

I would recommend that you consider debt counseling before you ever consider getting a loan. Trust me, I know. Another loan will only bring you trouble and despair and you will be in worst problems than you were before. You have come to the right place. These ladies and gents helped me out when I needed someone and didn't have anywhere to turn.

Hi Mary, welcome to the community.

Like everyone else said, it sounds like you could definitely benefit from consolidation. The counselor that calls you can point out some reputable companies.

Remember, you are never alone. Please browse the forums while you're waiting for that counselor to call, and post any questions you might have. We're here to help.

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to know if this is too good to be true. I spoke with a counselor yesteday & he sqaid the way its done is I pay him $215.00 the first draft, than the 2nd draft goes to my debt & so on & so on. He did not recommend a company he said that they have a lawyer who takes care of the credit card companies as far as a agreement goes.

I dont mean to be mistrusting but has everyone had a safe experience.
